I heard it in an echo coming through the woods. It was the most beautiful song I'd ever heard playing on the breeze. Thank you Maggie. You are super talented. I love every song you've put out. ❤

@kenhymes49005 жыл бұрын
Probably so, but as someone who mixes and masters everyday, I think there's too much mixing and mastering in the world and not enough free and fast moving creativity. 😊 I don't know why so many sing like they're drunk these days (My suspicion is it's partly insecurity about the words), but hey it's working for them so whatevs. This is a pleasant and sweet recording i'd say.
@Pikachu-qr4yb5 жыл бұрын
@@kenhymes4900 This is what I thought when i listened to Madonna's Crave she released this year. Her singing voice was never strong but she had a cute voice. @Biga55dump5 жыл бұрын
Forgive me but how could you say something so ignorant about someone else’s art? Songs are poetry and poetry is so subjective, that line means something to the artist and to the listeners who interpret their own meaning. It’s almost like she’s breathing that person away in her own mind, “and now breathe deep I’m inhaling, you and I there’s air in between” there is air in between her and the subject of the song, she’s emotionally detaching herself from that person. That’s just my interpretation, like I said the artist’s could be completely different.
@siriusleigh245 жыл бұрын
'You and I, there's and inbetween' wouldn't really work. Anyway, so air... plenty of that around. Full of invisible sub-atomic particles dancing around us and also not. Air... it's so vague

I'm fortunate I met Maggie Rogers before my group realized how talented she had become and how bright she performed on stage. As for how I got acquainted with Maggie Rogers, when I worked as a hotel receptionist, she stood in the hotel where I worked. She performed this song at a modest venue in my city. After that performance, she appeared warm and engaged the audience in conversation, and afterwards, talked to me and my colleague. It's worth standing around for the energy. I'm fortunate Pharrell spotted her spirit before her songs attracted the global spotlight.

This song feels like that moment when you go for a walk and the nature around you is so perfect, so unconcerned with you, but also feels like it was staged just for your viewing. And you start to fill up all of the parts of you that felt deflated and soon you overflow with tears of relief and gratitude that you get to experience life, that you get to be you, that you get to feel this deeply, that you always have the opportunity to change and grow and evolve. You will always be shedding your old self and growing your new one. And you can’t tell if you’re feeling intensely or softly, but you’re just relieved to be so thoroughly connected to the disconnection. It’s probably what animals feel, and for a little bit you get to be an animal too.

I listened to the Pharrel Masterclass and I was suprised by Pharrel's comments. There are artists who combine folkloric with dance music really well. I just feel Pharrel was so blown away by her natural talent and the total completeness of the production values, he just couldn't think quickly enough to actually say that - he just didn't say a lot because he was in shock!

I was walking through icy streams That took my breath away Moving slowly through westward water Over glacial plains And I walked off you And I walked off an old me Oh me oh my I thought it was a dream So it seemed And now, breathe deep I'm inhaling You and I, there's air in between Leave me be I'm exhaling You and I, there's air in between You and I, there's air in between Cut my hair so I could rock back and forth Without thinking of you Learned to talk and say Whatever I wanted to And I walked off you And I walked off an old me Oh me oh my I thought it was a dream So it seemed And now, breathe deep I'm inhaling You and I, there's air in between Leave me be I'm exhaling You and I, there's air in between You and I, there's air in between You and I, there's air in between

I just found out about Maggie yesterday. There is a real warmth to her music. Her voice is so beautiful. She has a levity to her writing but also oscillates between this real light, float-like quality to a more grounded, folk chorus. I like the way she juxtapositions the two, they work real well together.

Maggie - thanks for creating and sharing your beautiful song. Thanks also for subtitling it so beautifully. As a parent to a son who is heard of hearing, enjoys music, but struggles to hear the vocals, this matters more than you know. Thank you.

Love her voice, there’s something really calming and relaxing about her voice and personality, since the first time I saw the Masterclass vid I’ve watched it easily 20 plus times and still has the same calmness, also how naturally beautiful she is, that smile 😱👌 keep doin you maggie!

Why are people saying she's shite at dancing? Nobody wants to see you bump and grind. Her moves are not only expressive but honest; they make me wanna have a dance-versation with her.
@genericallyaccepted7 жыл бұрын
Jesse James Atencio her moves are "honest"? As opposed to a "lie"? Gimme an example of what you're talking about.
@LeonardoVibes7 жыл бұрын
Tommy Cruz Her dancing is free, an expression of her feelings. Dance as a form of art with with aesthetic and symbolic value. As he said, not fkin bump and grind or twerking
@xasia_6 жыл бұрын
Dude right? she actually dances to the other rhythms of the song besides the drum which some people may not hear because they are subconsciously only listening to the drums
@miki28miss6 жыл бұрын
Leonardo it's not because something is not sexually explicit that it's art lol. I really enjoy this artist and her universe but sayin g things like that is so dumb. Like if someone wish to express his/her creativity by twerking and grindind idk why not? Who are you to judge what is art what is not. Both are some kind of self-expression and you may or may not appreciate it, but if you don't no need to be such a judgemental ass.
@meganhamer68616 жыл бұрын
Have they seen Lorde?? They have their own style. It doesn't have to be sexual to be good. Just expressive.

The progression of the strength of her voice, the airy tone of the chorus and the mastering of this song are an absolute masterpiece!!! When I first saw this and heard her say, “It could probably use a couple more hours of mixing and mastering, but it’s okay for now,” and then heard the song, I was in shock that she thought it needed anything else !!!!

Fvck that. Being gay is punishable by deaf in several countries. American gays should stop crying about gay rights when they get treated like kings
@BrettGreen6158 жыл бұрын
Dwayne Pitt for one its death*. Second of all, we still CONSTANTLY get discriminated against for our sexuality; two guys kissing in a music video doesn't mean we get treated like kings, if anything, it shows that the artist is a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. Your comment is foolishness.
@davestoker62338 жыл бұрын
You should be punished for spelling "death" as "deaf". Get back in the basement troll!
@ssherman178 жыл бұрын
Yes, because the only person in the world permitted to object to their circumstances is the one most downtrodden person there ever was. And since he or she probably lived thousands of years ago, no one should ever complain again. Do I have that right? Absurd, Dwayne. Just absurd.
