Ouhhh I highly recommend “A Piece of Sky” by Barbra Streisand from the musical “Yentl”. Really GORGEOUS both from a vocal standpoint as well as orchestration!!

I know I can't afford to do any pay for requests but I do hope one of these days someone will request Lovebites to you so you can discover how awesome their singer Asami who started as an R&B singer before being recruited to sing power metal is. and how much power every member of this all female band puts forth and they are all world class musicians of multiple instruments especially Miyako who composes great pieces and was classically trained on Piano since age 3 yet is one of the unbeatable combination of these 2 lead guitarists who can harmonize guitars together as effortlessly and as fluidly as Iron Maiden's Dave Murray and Adrian Smith the bassist Miho who formed Lovebite's Idol is Steve Harris and the perhaps most explosive part of this band is drummer Haruna who beats the drums like they stole her boyfriend. Unfortunately Founder and bassist Miho left band for personal reason I believe to do with her Father passing away I'm guessing she needed time away. she has asked her fans to continue to support Lovebites as they proceed on without her The band also has chose to take a short Hiatus following the announcement I have seen a Japanese Bassist covering Lovebites songs maybe she's auditioning in her own way. I believe the Band will indeed move on and get even better they are much too talented not to. Sorry if I rambled but I do love and support this amazing band. I'd suggest listening to either "Edge of The World" or "Swan Song with Chopin Intro" yes Chopin Miyako plays piano ]:P

That is a voice that once heard, could never be mistaken for anyone else. The most distinctive voice in the world! I've enjoyed listening to Louis Armstrong now for almost seventy years.

The thing I love most about Louie is there always seems to be a warmth and smile in his voice. And that trumpet is a perfect duet. Speaking of He does a duet of this with Ella Fitzgerald and another with Edith Piaf herself and I can’t tell you which I prefer because how do you even choose? So fabulous. If you haven’t seen his cameo in High Society, you really should check it out. Great vid, Maggie. Happy New Year! ❤️

As someone who played trumpet at one point, I will say this, "He was one of the greats, in this order 1: Louis Armstrong 2: Dizzy Gillespie 3: Miles Davis. As far as holding back on the vibrato "It's all about breath control."

Louis Armstrong was so amazing and so unique, it is difficult to find words that do justice to his talent. If you haven't heard them before, you should listen to him "What a Wonderful World " and "Hello Dolly". Have a Happy New Year.

so what we need to try and do is like what Natalie Cole did with "Unforgettable" where she sang a duet with her dad (Nat King Cole) years after he passed away. Create that kind of duet with Maggie and Luis for this song.

Thanks for including my information about the national recording registry :) I was actually going to comment the info because I thought this was a second Louis Armstrong video, different from when I had said that on twitch... its been a little while. All the more reason people should join you on twitch to catch these the first time around.

Fun fact. Louis Armstrong was originally slated to voice Balloo in The Jungle Book. Phil Harris was chosen to fill the role after something happened to where Louis Armstrong was unable to do it. Conflicting prior commitments if I understand correctly. Anyway while he did not voice the character of Balloo, he *did* do a cover of a certain song about minimalism and eating ants.

There have to be so many all time greats from all genres it is hard to say what should make the top 500, let alone the top 200 or even 100. This has to be a candidate for sure though.

Happy New Year Maggie. As you have probably heard. Diana Ankudinova released her version of this classic song with Brandon Stone playing the piano accompanying her. It is a wonderful change of pace for her. I would love to hear your reaction to this song. Her version of Can't Help Falling in Love is quite Remarkable as well. You a wonderful young lady. I wish you a healthy and happy 2022.

Haha what a coincidence! First of all I already was hoping that you would do a react to him, and second of all I just watched a video of tribal people listening to him for the first time! Will watch this video now. :) Oh, remember the singer that I recommended a bit earlier? Do check his cover of "Jolene" if you'd like! He uses his ultra low voice and a more normal one.

Satchmo was a great trumpet player who could also really sing. A commenter below listed 3 great trumpet players. Greatness is often subjective and depends on personal preference, there are a couple that I would add to that list. Quincy Jones was a great composer as well as a trumpet player, and Al Hirt who was a great trumpet player with many, many hit albums. Al was best known for his New Orleans style jazz/blues. As always, love your reactions and commentary. Keep them coming in the new year.

I love Louis Armstrong’s singing style. It’s always just a little off the beat, like Willie Nelson. But his trumpet, like Willie’s guitar is always spot on the beat.

I love Louis because was he the the clearest singer? No he's very gravely. Was his diction great? No it wasn't. Was he trained? Nope. Not in any classical way. YET the absolute JOY this man had he was able to infuse in both his singing and playing such that it is straight serotonin. Joy sounds like Louis Armstrong. This song has an incredible ability to make you both relaxed and happy at the same time. Genius.

Since you are in New York, I think it would be cool to see you do something with Josh Turner (Josh Turner Guitar channel on KZbin). Josh (the guitar player, not the country singer) and his duo partner Carson McKee are really talented, but in a different style than yours. I think it would be interesting to see what y'all might come up with. I also wish I could be in the room with the three of you, I think that would be a party to be at!
