The song is about their former manager, Alan Walden, who was Ronnie Van Zant’s friend, even the best man in his wedding. The band thought he was doing them wrong in managing their money. In truth, the guys were all so young, most only in their early 20s, and Ronnie later confessed that he regretted writing the song. I think the manager was just trying to help them save their money, and saving them from themselves. Being young, drinking a lot and doing drugs were probably their own worst enemy.

"Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama ( Live at Knebworth) 77" this performance is from the same concert they performed the "iconic" last show they did before the plane crash. It's a very southern rock "anthem" style song. I love LS because they have such heavy blues sound to their music, and yet they can transition over into rock and country as well. So they really expanded their sound and grew as a band. But blues is my stuff, bro.
