Magi's Ending Explained! - Magi System, Metal Vessels, Magic, Rukh, Sacred Palace & Everyone's Fate!

I’m really disappointed with how this video turned out after watching it again. I repeat the same points a lot of times over and the video is poorly structured since I’m just rambling. For my future videos I’m going to write a script for them, because this was honesty annoying to listen to even for myself. I will also remake this whole video again in much better quality in the future.

Having just finished reading here's my take on the meaning and the ending: - Essentially everyone has a fate to follow, and it's by joining fates with the various different people around you that you move with them to fulfill yours, to the better understanding and protection of the world you live in. - The Rukh, Magi system and Vessels were made to guide the new people of the new world to the world Solomon envisioned of peace, but once they started being used for bad deeds due to the human heart being complicated and prone to mistakes, it was better understood by people like Alibaba that they should just discuss things even by how imperfect everyone is, it's okay to fight and argue about how the world should be as everyone works to better it. Therefore the solution was the destruction of the systems and the sacred palace. - Sinbad wanted to end conflict but realized by turning himself to god and returning everything to Rukh would destroy the relationships and the fate he had built his whole life, his vision of the world was challenged by Alibaba and he had a shred of doubt even though he was really sure and selfish about that decision that was also David's plan. - David lived all his life thinking he had a fate to fulfill because he believed so hard he was special and chosen by god unlike anyone else, but being questioned by Aladdin who really gave him that fate he had no answer and started doubting himself as well that his will was never his own. - The most important message by the story, is that it is okay to be different, there's nothing wrong about white rukh, black rukh, humans and gods, noblity or slaves. Like Alibaba puts it, there's no more scum in this new world worder, where everyone works together despite their differences.

I felt the time skip was problematic Sinbads new world needed more development for me. I personally would’ve enjoyed to see the challenges Sinbad had for them and all his djinn equips as we didn’t get to see all of them

It's hilarious that in the final arc, Falling to Depravity was actually a good thing =)) During last the panel where Alibaba explained why they should cooperate instead of choosing a single king to lead their destiny, there were two lines of black n white rukh intertwined with each other toward the eight-point diagram above the air. So, I think the rukh still exists. Black and white rukh may even coexist at this point. I was just a bit disappointed as there wasn't any sign showing Setta reunited with Ithnan, Wahid and Tess reunited with Falan. When I think of everything they had been through, I wish they had a less bitter end at least in the after life.

I was left unsatisfied but happy about the ending and how the world was left. My biggest thing about my dissatisfaction was due to them not doing what they wanted about the worlds connecting and the people that Alibbaba wanted to save from Alma Torran. I guess I wanted more and MAYBE, a possible hint of the manga to continue with something else like a new adventure with the world being how it was. I’d love to discuss this more if you’re open to it and know if they will do something in the future. This series left me with wanting to go on an adventure with all of the characters and I now yearn for it.

Personally I didn't think the last arc was anywhere near as bad as most people were saying but it could have been better and would have been better if it was not rushed and done right. If Magi ever gets a season 3 in the future I hope it does not get ruined by terrible animation because Nanastu No Tazai and One Punch Man were both ruined. But still great video and keep up the good work.

Just finished the manga and man...its hurting my head, the story got complicated from magic to world end kinda stuff in unexplained what type of universe like wtf.. and just straight to the conclusion..still its kinda satisfying end for some..i guessed? you even dedicated yourself on making this vid. Is Ugo dead or what? What happened to Solomon? Is he also dead? But it was also implied that he became one with Ill-Illah and became some sort of guardian so... And what the hell happened to David? If the people who died from Alma Torran are stucked in that dimension, why is Sheba not there? Whatever happened to Alibaba's original plan? And how does he even plan on executing it? I know he has increased concentration, but I was confused on when talked about space connecting magic?? I didn't really quite understand what happened on the last chapters. Argh, Magi really needs a sequel! There's a lot to cover and the fandom is still suffering after all theze years! 😭

Do you remember how david returned? I remember sinbad was sort of his reincarnation and could hear his voice inside his head. But how did he come back when sinbad went to the sacred palace and become God?

In the latest chapters of the Sinbads Adventures manga it explains how and when David and sinbad became linked. You can say that David attached himself to sinbad, to put it very simply, and thus when sinbad went to the sacred palace he too was able to go as well and do his own thing. I don’t want to spoil it too much on how they became connected, so I would really recommend reading the latest chapters of sinbads adventures. They are very good too! So it’s definitely worth the read

Finally some good fucking food- All jokes aside, I'm glad you made this video! I never see any video essays on magi which sucks because it's a great series with a great storyline and even greater characters! Its nice that you took the time to go in depth with the ending, even if I wasnt exactly happy with it (or the final arc itself) it's not as bad as other mangas endings Are you going to post any more magi video essays? First of all, thank you so much for the kind words! It's great to see active Magi fans who still love it. I completely agree with the facts that there aren't many videos at all, i mean close to none that are made consistently, on Magi giving in depth thoughts and takes. I love this series a lot and really wish there were more people on KZbin talking about it! Also, I was planning on releasing a Judal video essay within 2-3 days, and i'm certain of the date since I've already done the research, written the script and recorded it all. I knew he was sort of complex, but honestly after making the essay i have to say he's actually a very deep character! I'll be making essay on all 8 Magi (done half of them now) and afterwards video essays on other characters! As well as other general Magi stuff like this video here. What left the world was the magi system which gave the Magi limitless Rukh. This was gone since the Sacred Palace was ‘destroyed’ or vanished after the final fight, which was the reason the Magi system existed. (Due to Gods such as Solomon and Ugo). BUT Magic itself was naturally apart of the world that they live in even without the Sacred Palace. So even with the disappearance of God and the Sacred Palace + Great Rift, there will always be the Magic that naturally exists in the world that Magicians possess. As to why they went to other worlds, it was to show the audience that their adventures weren’t over. Lots of manga do this, where even after the adventure and manga are finished it shows a larger world that the main cast will explore after the ending. So they just did it because they want to go on adventures! Also thank you for your kind words too! Glad this video helped in any way it could 😁

I think you’re missing the point of his character. Alibaba does NOT want to be a king. He’s had several opportunities to become a king, throughout the whole story, but every time he has refused. He doesnt want to have followers like Sinbad. I understand that perhaps that’s what you wanted to happen, but that doesn’t ruin the story or the potential. That’s just what you wanted, that doesn’t make the story bad

Well in my opinion I believe that 1. Aladdin (he was the goat throughout the whole series, everything and everyone he fought against he prevailed over.) 2. Sinbad (everyone was scared to fight him, him on his own was a force of nature.) 3. Judar ( to be honest he and Sinbad could be swapped with each other, in his introduction Sinbad seemed to really not want to fight him. He lost to Aladdin so I know he's weaker than him. But being a Magi def put him leagues above everyone else. Plus that op power-up he got after teaming up with Hakuryu was dope.) 4. Alibaba ( If Ren Koen didn't get nerfed midway through the series I'd put him here, but after Alibaba came back to life and started training he became a complete monster. Hyper Concentration is fire. On top of that he damn near fought 2 armies worth of people at the end of the story on his own while trying to protect civilians ) But that's just what I think

Thanks for the video. I read the series years ago, when it was still being published. I thought that the ending was kinda rushed too and the whole Rukh thing was like Evangelion with the Human Instrumentality and shit, confusing, but I loved the last chapter. Anyway, I'm still confused about what happened to Sinbad and I can't find any reasonable explanation about his fate. Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite manga of all time.

That was never made clear. What was said: Sinbad said he would return, but we don’t know what happened to him or where he went from What I think happened: Unlike Ugo, Solomon and Sheba who died and passed on, I believe that it’s possible that sinbad didn’t die but that his soul is just in another dimension. But since they closed off the dimensions and the sacred palace, he isn’t able to enter back. That’s just my theory, as for what actually happened it’s very vague and ambiguous.

As for all the gods and such, we never really got clarification on their origins or such (not that I remember at least). Ugo was able to create the sacred palace and ascend to godhood because he’s not only a magi, but also a genius too in science. As for sinbad and David’s connection, I have a very good video explaining their connection! It’s on my channel if you wanna learn about that Arba is just a devote follower of God, like the original God. Honestly, she’s just crazy and an insane religion fanatic As for the David being chosen part, see we don’t really know that. Even in the end, when Aladdin asks him, he himself doesn’t know. So that’s open for interpretation and many theories! I hope this helped with some of your questions! Just last week picked the story up from where the anime left off, such a shame I did not get on the band wagon sooner. Could have missed out on such a wonderful story. The anime just stops at a random point, I think it was the end of the Mondstadt arc. To be honest no one truly knows why there isn’t another season already, but the anime is really good! You should watch it and can then continue where the anime ends with the manga
