That take off got me grinding my teeth for a moment there. Nice maiden flight and good piloting skills.

Hahahaha, yes just a little too much down trim, but he is an excellent pilot, so no worries. Thanks for the comment

I am so glad to see aeromodelling alive and well in Thailand with Thais taking up the hobby. I want to check out your club next time I am allowed out of Oz and into Thailand.

RC flying is really big in Thailand and they have some great runways/airfields, with great friendly people who fly anything from small foamies to high-end warbirds and jets.

Amazing. One handed flyer. And I'm still trying to figure out if I should be a thumber or a pincher.

That's incredible! Was it flown one handed out of choice or necessity? Better than most of us fly two handed!
@MarkRobinson5554 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it is out of necessity, he had a stroke many years ago. He really is on of the clubs top fliers, and a joy to watch.

Is that based on the Currare ? the anhedral tail is familiar..
@MarkRobinson5554 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was designed after the Curare by the same designer, who says it was based on the Curare.

I have a club member who has only one arm and I wonder if you have any information on how he has set up his radio
@MarkRobinson5553 жыл бұрын
Hi there, he has a Futaba transmitter, which has a slider control around the underside on the left, which he uses for the throttle. The left gimbal is then used for elevator and ailerons/rudder. A switch is used to change between rudder and ailerons. Think it is the more expensive Futaba that have the slider around the back, but sure which model. I can always find out if needed. Hope that helps.
@richardlong36153 жыл бұрын
@@MarkRobinson555 Thankyou - my friend has an adapted Spektrum DX6i with the throttle on a slider which is on the left hand side of the radio the elevator is on the left stick up and down the aileron side to side and the rudder is a rotary control on the top of the stick but he struggles with throttle control. If you could let me know which Futaba he uses that would be helpful.

Is this model selfbuild by plan?
@roythurston77993 жыл бұрын
Is this guy flying with a single stick radio because he does not appear to be using his right hand
@MarkRobinson5553 жыл бұрын
Yes, he flies just with his left hand as he had a stroke many years ago. He is one of the best fliers in the club, a joy to watch. He has the throttle on a slider around the back of the transmitter and a switch to toggle between ailerons and rudder, using one of the higher spec Futabas.

Mark are you based in Chiang Mai? If so are you a member of a club there? I am interested as my wife and I are coming to Chiang Mai initially for 6 months but then to retire, when the pandemic is over. We currently live in Cairns Australia and were to come to Thailand on the 19th August. Bob
@MarkRobinson5554 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, I am in Lampang, but fly in CM, where there are at least 3 clubs. There are some great clubs all over Thailand, its really big here.

@@MarkRobinson555 Thanks Mark, I will be a novice with simulator experience only. I have only flown control line many years ago.
