This super simple science experiment uses a plastic sealable bag, water, and sharpened pencils. It doesn't get any easier than that. It's called a magic bag experiment because when you poke holes in the plastic bag the water doesn't leak. But why doesn't the water leak from the bag after you poke it with pencils? This experiment uses the properties of polymers to show why creating a hole in a soft polymer bag won't create space for water to leak. I'll explain why the bad doesn't leak in the video. You can do this experiment indoors, but keep towels on hand, just in case it gets a little wet.
