Loved the kvetching and philosophical/religious discussion, and the camera issues were not terrible. Hiring a housekeeping service was the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long time. I can clean, but I’m not great at it. The professionals leave my house literally sparkling and catch a lot of little details that I would overlook. I feel much lighter with so much taken of my to-do list.

Get the sock machine! I’ve had Erlbacher Gearhart for many, many years. It’s wonderful. In the past I’ve done a ribbed sock, heels and toes. I missed the hand knitting portion, so now I do a tube and hand knit the rest. I love it! And you cannot have too many socks. Never.

I'm so glad I read this. I am thinking of getting a sock knitting machine to do the tubes and handknit the rest. I have no knowledge of any of the brands. I still have to research but you seem to love yours so that one check for Erlbacher Gearhart! ....It's either tube all the skeins of fingering weight or give it all away and I'd rather have the socks. I love my yarn!

@@ginasknitclubat one point I had the 72, 60 and 54. But I hardly ever used the 72 and 54 so I sold them and just kept the 60. Besides socks you can also make fingerless mitts and put in an afterthought thumb. I can personally vouch for Erlbacher’s customer service. It is second to no one. Since their inception I have probably owned 5 of them (I know it’s excessive). I sold all but one. She’s a beautiful pink. That’s another thing too. You can pick your color!
@kcknitter110 ай бұрын
@@carolyn_rI promise you won’t regret it! Also fingerless mitts! Someone on Ravelry has come out with a pattern for them just recently. I’m going to start on it tomorrow. For many years I did the entire sock on the machine and there’s nothing wrong with that. I did have the rubber attachment. It’s like anything else it takes patience and practice. I could make a pair of socks in 2 hours.

Keep being you sharing your life and faith and search of how to age well. Your yarn is always fabulous and so are you. I hope that you don’t get too much crap on here for faith discussions because those are the conversations that we all need to have. You are right so simple yet so hard. So many are off track and we all need to get back to the basics. Loving the Lord and each other. Sure wish I could have joined you both for blue tea and a great discussion. I agree with you Gina that you really need to check things out before you take anything. I had this happen to me years ago when a nurse practitioner asked me what worked at a horrid time in my life …. neither she nor I researched long term issues so have been told in recent years that I have been on it for so long that it would be impossible to get away from it. At my age, it really doesn’t matter, but it does make me angry that she didn’t know what she was prescribing. And I was not in a place to even think about researching anything at that moment. I highly recommend the B a c h flower remedies instead.

Hello ladies, just finished watching this. Love it all! I wanted to address Katie regarding a sock machine. I have an Erlbacher Speedster, have had it 2 years now and I do love it. However, it is technical and it was a big learning curve for me. I am fortunate to live near a small group that meets monthly and met someone who has mentored me....and it took a while! Now I feel very proficient. I can make a sock, complete with a hung hem, a heel and a toe that needs to be kitchenered, all in less than one hour. That is not a tube where I have to add heel and toe later....it is complete! If Katie would like to communicate with me about this, I am happy to answer any questions. Also I do crank tubes for a yarn shop half an hour from my home (there are NO yarn shops in my town). Please keep podcasting....I look forward to seeing both of you again soon.
