Lovelyamerah more tips from my experience: When I have a full load to dry I divide it in two or three parts and dry each. Brush off filters after each usage, and rinse them about once a month. Never put big bulky or heavy item in your dryer. Trying to over pack the dryer will ruin it. If you try some of our collective tips with what works best for you. That dryer will last you for years...good luck

I've had mine since 2018 and it worked GREAT until recently, as in like a week ago. I really didn't want to use the extended warranty I purchased when buying the dryer, as it seems like it could be a setting issue. That's what led me to this video. As he stated in the video, along with reviews and in the Q/A section on Amazon (where I bought it) the eco and dry sensor buttons seemed to be the problem. I turned the dial, the eco and dry sensor to "off", unplugged the dryer, and let it sit for15 minutes hoping that would "reset" it. I plugged it back in, and tried again. It worked! This was my first portable dryer and I have to say I really really like it! It saved me money during the "pandemonium" and I've gotten my money's worth, even if it was time to use that extended warranty, or replace it. I haven't had a problem prior. I paid a little over $200 at the time of purchase with the extended warranty, so if it's time for a new one, so be it lol. My portable washer and dryer has been a lifesaver in the little kitchen I have in my apartment.

So the timer dial going backwards is a characteristic of the type of motor that runs the timer dial. They can start in either direction, and usually have something in the timer mechanism to stop it from going the wrong way. If that little mechanism (usually a tiny lever) gets sticky or worn, they can randomly run backwards. The same kind of motor (just bigger) is usually used to spin the glass turntable plate in a microwave oven. Those usually don't have anything to prevent it from going the reverse direction. If you watch almost any microwave with a turntable, sometimes the plate will go one way, sometimes it will go the other way. It's called a synchronous motor.

Thanks you review was on point. My sister gift me this dryer in 2013 it's around 8 years old and still in mint condition. I've not til this day had an issue with it. Only thing I can't do are my scatter rugs or large comforters. I use the community dryer for those as not to ruin my dryer it's not designed for that. Tip for cleaning inner lint filter: I have a tiny dollar store hand broom or you can even use an old toothbrush. I take the filter outside to my balcony and brush off all of the lint on both sides it works great only takes a minute or two. Then you can also hand rinse that like the intake filter. I try to do this as I've finished all of my drying. Then I squeeze out any excess water with a towel and put the filters back in place and the heat from using the dryer will dry them. Next time you dry they will be all set. My issue is I've downsized and it's in my bedroom now where can I find a exhaust kit to put moisture out the window if anyone knows tks

The dial thing is SO annoying! I have yet to figure it out as well! The lint sheet you can just vacuum with the hose attachment! If you hold one end, you can drag the hose towards the other end. works like a charm and definitely less messy than throwing it in the next load. I'm bummed that mine died after 3 years, it served me well!

I was delighted that you mentioned the 'reversing timer' issue; I have the 1.5 CF Magic Chef compact dryer, purchased used, and have noticed that from time to time as well. I'm wondering if it's because it's sensing that the load isn't drying on the setting I set, and automatically increases it? Although today, I did a summer quilt in it which was completely dry after a couple hours, but the timer had reversed and still had about 2 hours' time left. How bizarre! - and thanks for your excellent review. I'm going to try your suggestion for throwing the back filter in with a load for 5 minutes - yes, it's a bear to clean any other way!

I just got mine but because my border collie sheds everywhere, I had an old school red double sided lint brush handy and that took the excess lint off the second lint trap in a good 3-4 swipes. Think it was like $3.50 at a Fred meyer?

The housing for the lint in the back of the dryer keeps falling off when I put clothes in to dry. The filter was thrown away so I'm replacing that. If I replace the housing will it solve the problem? Thanks

I bought one second hand & it was working beautifully til the other day. Literally after it worked perfect…I took those clothes out, put another load in & this loud, crazy sound started. Plus it doesn’t seem to heat up. It’s so loud tho I’m afraid to turn it back on & bother my neighbors. I’m guessing it’s a belt, but I honestly cannot find much on this. If anyone has had this happen please let me know. I can’t go back to the laundromat. I have so many steps & lugging laundry up & down was eventually going to kill me. Thank you.

If you run something else heavy on the same line with any other heavy load that exceeds the line rating the fuse / circuit breaker will blow.. it's not the appliance itself but how much of an overloaded line that will cause a fuse to blow or a breaker to trip. For instance running an air conditioner then turning on a toaster oven on the same line.. so technically, will the dryer by itself cause a fuse to blow...?? No It shouldn't all by itself.. And the machine doesn't cause it.. to many heavy things on the same line done by a person causes it.

Do you know where i can find an exhaust filter replacment?? The cover broke and wont stay in the machine. I tried using fireproof tape but it doesnt work that well and it keeps falling out. Ive looked on Amazon, Walmart, Home depot and cant find one anywhere! Pls help thank you!

@AG'S Reviews - Have you had any luck finding the plastic filter replacement piece? I've read a handful of people having the same issues and would like to get a spare ahead of time. Was it the 'inner plastic piece' that sits between the main lint trap and the cloth filter that broke, those little tiny edges that snap it in place?

I mean the portable washer I have spin dry is very good to me like my clothes hang dry in a couple hours . But I bought a dryer mainly for multiple loads I do back to back . I used to hang my clothes in the closet in my spare room but it can only hold so much .

I use a lint brush to clean my filters off then shake them out. Replacements can be purchased and it looks like you could use some new ones. I personally would not run the filters with a load of clean clothes, that’s gross! All the dirt and lint just gets distributed with your clean laundry…ewww. It would be better to air dry the small filter after rinsing as the dryer is too harsh on that nylon woven fabric.
