It only takes 20 years to understand and to get what you are teaching about the effortless downswing. Once you hit a ball as you demonstrate and when it all falls into place it's mesmerizing and the light goes off, it's not about hitting at the ball more like collecting the ball. You are no doubt the best instructor on 'The You Tube ' Please keep making content like this. Cheers Jamie

I have used this right hip move falling back now for two days and it has brought a feeling of flow ,rhythm & power that has come an gone over the years. And it is working with woods,hybrids, driver, and irons. Historically a fade to slicer now the slice is gone. 83 years old 5 handicap from middle tees. Absolutely best lesson for me ever. Thanks

Love your videos because they’re geared more towards natural feels versus static positioning. My best golf happens when I feel the swing and just let it happen. Then…I’ll find a way to mess it up by trying to get into a certain position to correct something that cost me a shot or two during the round, instead of sticking with the feel that was working, accepting the mistake and moving on. The baseball throw eventually becomes natural if you play the game. You don’t go and change your throwing “motion” because of a bad throw, you move on. It only becomes an issue if you can’t move on and dwell on it, then change what was once natural. I’ve been working on my rhythm as of late, but will be placing more emphasis on motion to enhance the feel of naturally swinging the club with consistent results, and not abandoning my swing if/when something goes awry…cause it will. Take Care 🤙🏾

Brilliant! And simple. My tendency has been my hands out racing my core. But the “feel of falling” has slowed everything down and my shots are now much tighter. Excellent lesson....this could be the number one thing that so many beginners just don't get at first. Alex, great job. Question on that early hip move. Is that equivalent to the action needed to snap a towel? You send out the hand and then before the tip of the towel has traveled to straight, you pull back your hand the opposite direction. It creates the snap at the end. Do you think you could put in some context about any differences depending on the club? 9Iron vs 7iron vs a long club, like a rescue or fairway wood? Is there ANY difference. I mean I know the longer clubs, the downswing is a bit more shallow. Wondering if you interpret any difference due to the club one uses.

As always from the best instructor on KZbin. One suggestion I might make also is to watch a little of the LPGA. On the PGA the pro’s have a much quicker tempo and you don’t see this movement near as well as you do with most of the women on the LPGA who’s swings for the most part seem slower and more deliberate. I think the one thing that blows people away is how far you hit the ball with what seems like a slower swing. Along with that come much improved accuracy.

Do you do the same movement with your pelvis when you're doing the driver as well
@TheArtofSimpleGolf Жыл бұрын
Very similar.. the motion is the same, tmjust the angle less down but set up should take care of most of that

Hello my golfing friends!🏌️♂️I would love for you to try this right now as drill even without hitting balls and tell me if it gives an “ a’ha” 🏆👍😄 let me know below 👇 if this all makes sense to add the Flow and simplicity you need

Tried this on the range today and then played a few holes. Totally effortless power! Didn’t even think about hitting with my arms and honestly have no idea how the club head found the ball but it did! Every time. I even completely smoked my 5 wood straight through a dogleg that normally I’d hit a 3 wood. Unbelievable tip!!

Well done! Exactly what I tried to explain and delighted it resonated with you. Thank you for coming back to share! 🏌️♂️👍🏆

It’s like my body starts to feel that hip “fall” and naturally responds by planting the left foot to stop the fall. As a result, the arms and club swing through to balance out the fall/leg plant.

You have good tone, pace, and emphasis in your presentations, and meaningful topics. Thank you. Do you have the courage to attempt these movements left-handed. If you did you would experience and feel what I do when I try them.

Very kind of you and much appreciated. I might just give it a bash. I am a very right hand dominant fella and it all started as a kid playing tennis as my first sport. Golf came a lot later but some left handed attempts might yield some interesting results :)

I tried this yesterday and it worked well with driver…but couldn’t get it to work with irons. Is it a move for all clubs or just driver?

all clubs for sure.

Tried this at the driving range today. Still booted a couple of shots but by and large I was able to hit the ball more consistently both on drives and shorter distance shots. Thank you!

Alex : Great insight to developing a truly rhythmic, dynamic swing! This falling motion is a topic that deserves far more attention from instructors and so glad that you brought it to light . This move is one that I've been seeking and committed to learning , but is still elusive to me. Any specific drills that you'd recommend for a movement that is so subtle? Seems the hips must turn to a great extent first or the golfer's body is actually precluded from doing this falling motion correctly . true ??
@TheArtofSimpleGolf2 жыл бұрын
Yes I think what you are saying sounds correct… it’s a continuous feel of pelvis rotation and falling back around to target… then we feel a “catching” of weight and then the rest of body and arms flow if you allow it. The drill of club across pelvis should help. Keep rehearsing without a club first
@markdegrandpre69182 жыл бұрын
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf Thank you Alex ! Will work on the club across the pelvis drill. Like your notion of "continuous feel of pelvic rotation" not a stopping, disconnected series of motions . Will keep this front on mind in doing the drill. Hope to report back some progress soon ! thanks

Gain more distance after changing swing? Just curiosity
@alnickerson25252 жыл бұрын
@@lesterlolester Yes, I did gain some distance. I had to go down a club for my irons. Doing that early "fall" or drift (at the top of the backswing / beginning of the downswing) stopped me from pulling or yanking the club down from the top. The "fall" started the club down passively and on the right plane. It stopped me from going over the top, which happened when I pulled the club down. My swing felt more fluid. And although the swing speed seemed slower, the ball went clearly farther. (I think the speed through impact may have been higher, even though the swing felt slower.) And the ball direction was more consistent. I was pretty happy. I had tried perviously to do this kind of move at the top of the backswing, knew I should be doing it, but I couldn't find a way that felt comfortable or seemed natural. For some reason, the way he explained it in the video worked for me.
@lesterlolester2 жыл бұрын
@@alnickerson2525 Thanks for your sharing. You are genius to get the effortlessness swing from video clip in short period of time. I only hit a few shots as you mentioned in 60 balls but it is amazing.. I can feel what your happiness from. Let's keep it up and hit more consistent shots in golf course.. CHEERS
@alnickerson25252 жыл бұрын
@@lesterlolester I had to practice the move many times, very slowly, inside our apartment, before I could incorporate it into my swing out at the range or on the course. I had difficulty incorporating the move into my left hip / pelvis turn. So I didn't just go out and do it. I wish it were that easy. Good luck!

this is a key move that ive read about time and time again. I could never get it down it seem just to hard so I gave up and reverted back to a poor swing .I tried it in the back yard with some wiffle balls and something it actually clicked ...felt very odd at first but I was hitting very clean and crisp,.The feeling i got was i was stretching my left arm cross my chest then releasing ...I kept practicing to be aware of that feel you described as a sling shot pulling the band back .then letting go .Now I need to take to the DR then play.
