I just want to appreciate Cam's attempts to be a good drafter. He tries not to commit to a multicolor early and reads the signals. The problem is no one else is signaling properly thanks to two people forcing and Missy taking every bit of fixing. That Pack 3 is exactly what happens every week in the local shop too. We all know it, we just enjoy it.

this is both a really tight, compelling script and very well shot and edited. i’m amazed that, of all things, a magic: the gathering sitcom manages to make an episode consisting of three near-visually-identical scenes so captivating. i dearly love these breaks from the formula, and i’m really excited for whatever the future of this show ends up looking like.

This episode was gold. It's amazing how everyone had a full arc over the course of 11 minutes that fit their play styles to a T Ben: Is annoyed at Adam from earlier so he purposely cuts him on Orzhov for most of the draft before coming to terms with the other side of the argument and realizing that Adam is also cutting him on Orzhov Missy: Gets chromatic lantern and becomes laser focused on getting mana fixing and durtly stuff only to draft something with mostly fixing and hard to play bombs James: One or 2 word thoughts for each quick pick until we realize at the end that it was because he was playing monored. Adam: more or less the same story as Ben because they have really similar styles Cam: Gets something insane in green pack one and starts going for it only to notice blue is possible, go full on into blue, realize that his blue pool is actually pretty bad and panic before picking up something in black to actually round his deck out Kathleen: Desperately tries to read the table the entire time and draft accordingly only to make a pile of cards that are a bit of everything due to overthinking.

The draft's pack-transitions were beautiful, and those long takes were amaze-balls. Fantastic job. I kinda missed the progression of a normal episode's plot, which is even more apparent when contrasted with the last two episodes' interwoven-double-plotline structure. Still, the winding paths that the six decks take through the draft does enough of a valiant impression of that structure to carry one through the episode, and there were some quite funny jokes and gags in there. 7.2/10
