MAGIC!! How I turn AA batteries into a C size!

For years, I have used AA batteries in replace of C size because I just never have C size and I don't need them very often. Our Christmas train uses them and we only get that out once a year. In the past, I have just used some rechargeable AA batteries and if you are careful, you can get them to fit. I want to make some toroids where the outside diameter is the size of a C battery and the inside hole will fit a AA battery. That should help hold them in place.
AA and C size batteries are the same length so they are easily interchangeable if the diameter doesn't come into play too much. AA diameter is listed at 14 mm where as the C size diameter is 26.2 mm.
