Spent time in Liverpool in the 70s. Used either tunnel numerous times both by car and on motorcycle. I don't remember exactly but the toll in those days must have been nominal as I don't ever remember hurting me.

To cross the George Washington Bridge over the Hudson River from Fort Lee New Jersey to Upper Manhattan...the fee is $18. The bridge was built in the 1930s.

Do you remember the massive thieving that was eventually uncovered? Someone realised the tolls collected no way matched the number of vehicles using the new tunnel. A secret audit discovered an extensive ongoing fraud involving toll collectors and their supposed supervisors. Toll collectors were found with second homes in Spain that they couldn't explain how they afforded. There were many prosecuted. A secure system was introduced to eliminate any future risk. Now many pay using electronic means (number plate recognition) and recently 'contactless' payments were introduced.

The tenants arrive here and are carried along the corridor on a conveyor belt in extreme comfort, past murals depicting Mediterranean scenes, towards the rotating knives. The last twenty feet of the corridor are heavily soundproofed.

Deliberate flesh interfaces always lack the flexibility of spontaneous segmentation, the geometry is just so less adaptable and the rapid fatality limits the broad portal creation.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"

In future, could you please either mix the music onto both channels, or use mono sound? If you use headphones, having the music in one ear and nothing in the other is very uncomfortable. You managed the voiceover into both ears; the rest should be easy.

A staff of over 80 dedicated police to "maintain safe traffic flow" , 100 full time engineers , back up power to maintain light and ventilation , and other staff ! this must cost Millions $ a month to run . Would have been better off building a bridge with none of these running costs.

If a bridge had been cheaper, a bridge would have been built.
@deeremeyer1749 Жыл бұрын
@@tooleyheadbang4239 Several "bridges" were built in that "tunnel". The only thing that made the tunnel "cheaper" was "cheap labor" and absolutely zero "overhead" for the real construction equipment "Great Britain" couldn't begin to build "in-house" and would have had to import.
