@@magicorthodoxy I appreciate your care for your viewers, but that meant I had to rummage around a few sites to find a copy of Catch. I certainly would have started my search by clicking on a link you provided. Or hey - you could provide links to a few of your favorite magic shops that carry the trick. Who says it has to be just one source?

Dude I just got into magic at the age of 30 and I'm now in the rabbit hole after only a month and a bit of Card College Vol. 1... Now I'm shopping for some tricks and gimmicks so I can work to put together a routine for my family. Your channel is making things sooooo much easier! Thank you! You have a review every single trick I've searched for now lol it's so helpful

This could well be the gimmick that brings the uninitiated over to the Dark Side of the Coin. To a layperson - and indeed we faithful - that "Catch" vanish is just a jaw dropper. Thanks for the review and the handling tips.

I have Catch already, and LOVE ❤️ it. I thought it would be SUPER knacky, but was surprised how easily & quickly I was able to get a clean vanish! I’m still not quite able to do it without thought, but muscle memory is coming quick. I hope they create the gimmick to a Morgan, thinking of combining with a Slit Focus Routine utilizing that Vanish with a regular Morgan incorporated at the end. Great review, as always! Thanks, David!!!

@@magicorthodoxy You are most kindly welcome, David. I know - experiencial-based - the work that goes into your vids. I honestly don't know how you find the time here and there to carve out the time to do sometimes 2, 3, a day. I'm involved in cutting and editing 8 hours of intimate, revealing, never heard interviews with top, then uniquely situated, former CIA, DOD, State Department, DHS, and other officials about their personal 9/11 stories ... but more than that, what still has yet to be done 20 years later. One is with a recently reactivated then-USN CDR who was in the Pentagon's Command ops center near where Flight 77 (carrying two friends of mine, not to mention friends I lost AT the Pentagon; I was halfway there for meetings that morning) slammed into at roughly 500+ mph. He was director of the JCS and SECDEF's emergency medical intelligence, contingency planning, and response corrdination, as well as POTUS'S chief medical response advisor should a POTUS have to be on board the E-4 Advanced Airborne Command Post, or "Nightwatch" - sometimes also "Looking Glass" or "Alice." Keep a watch on KZbin for "Inteliscopx." And that's not a shameless plug. Would sure like to talk to you about a project coming up which several other magicians you know have agreed to participate in. Sure I can find a private direct way of contacting you. Keep up your exemplary unbiased work - it's a lot of effort I trust your regulars sincerely "get!" Have a great weekend!

If you wear a watch and vanish a coin the first thing people say is "it's under your watch" it has happened so many times, when I am doing coin magic I don't wear a watch. Go with the raven Instead.

@DavidTobyTraylor3 жыл бұрын
@@misterliquidcity I agree with David. The Raven will give you a ton more flexibility and is, in my opinion, the easiest coin vanish gimmick there is and has been road tested for decades! Get the starter kit from Penguin, I wish I would have had Nick’s instruction WAY BACK when I got my first Raven! Good luck, practice, read & practice then wash & repeat….😜😬
@misterliquidcity3 жыл бұрын
@@DavidTobyTraylor I am much more into mentalism but I have really wanted to incorporate some vanishes into what I do. The raven starter kit was exactly what I was thinking until I seen catch. But I think I will stick with going with raven for now. Thanks for the tip!

Another great review, as a mentalist maybe not something I'd need. But it looks clean. I did also check out (like and subscribed too) to Steve's review, in the beginning of his video he does the vanish and with my Bose headphones you can hear the audio click. But as you said talking over it should mask it.

Hi David, hope you’re well. I’ve loved your videos this week. Thank you for all your efforts. Now, I’m not a genius, but I’m thinking I MAY have an idea how this works. I’m wondering if it could be used as a ditching device following a false transfer/retention vanish/French drop? Seems to me that it could be a handy thing for that rather than an ultra visual thing where your hands are getting burned by the spectator…?

In Vanishing inc video they give instructions on how to put bring the gimmick into play and how to remove it. I tried wearing the gimmick all day and it fell out of my watchband if I tighten my watch up more my skin gets in the way of the load. Don't think of this as an everyday carry that you can have attached to your wrist all day you should set up the gimmick right before performance or routine putting the gimmick in your wristband during a performance. Or am I the only one who has trouble with this?
