When i started watching i thought, just another multi trick that will be forgotten in no time. Wrong big time...this is very good, genius in the way it is tought, and what value for money. You have to admire the tricks that Craig brings out. Cheers as always for your review David. I will buy this

This looks good and sounds really good. My only issue, and maybe it’s just me, but from my own experience, casinos use different colored chips to designate different denominations. Maybe it won’t be an issue, but if you run into someone who goes to casinos they may call you out. Just my observation.
@magicorthodoxy6 күн бұрын
you know that and I know that, but do spectators?
@jefftravillaКүн бұрын
This has been my resistance too. Anyone who’s had even a passing look at poker games understands intuitively why the chips would be different colors. Do the instructions cover justification ideas? The only thing I can think of is to call it out directly and say that you went to this casino that colored all of their chips the same way, and they quickly learned why that was a bad idea and switched to colors, but I kept some of the originals. But I don’t know, that feels like an annoying amount of nonsense.
@keithculver3974Күн бұрын
I agree. Almost any type of item that has a monetary value uses either size or color so there isn’t confusion. And yes I know that and I bet most lay people know that also.

PS I placed my order for this within 5 minutes of watching your review. PSS I love the fact that you tell us not to buy all things new because new shinny things come out everyday. That was very meaningful for me.

Thank you David for the review - and the advice. The sheer amount of tricks Craig puts into one prop may become overwhelming. BUT - you get a lot of „reminders“ for your magic. The Quinta extreme I will use for a complete different effect. (And I had a reason to go back to the Phils Codex book to look up something else) The price point is a bit high but the props are well made and the optical m** system is the superlative of brilliant (brilliant - more brilliant - Phil Smith). Lets hope Phil and Craig will never get a home in each other’s neighborhood- our money would just disappear before even arriving on our accounts 🤪

I know some may balk at the $60 price, but when you consider that you're getting casino-quality poker chips, which are much more expensive to produce than playing cards and will last forever, along with more instruction and ideas than you could want, $60 is a steal of a deal.

Point of information, the chips are ceramic not clay. They’re great but they are definitely not clay chips.

Very clever to “turn” card tricks into chips tricks. Performing too many card tricks can get dull.

Craig has certainly been impressive in his output, but unfortunately for me he has not brought out much that suits my character. It doesn't fit for me to do card tricks with other objects or special decks, and my character isn't the swindler type that is doing bar bet gotcha type stuff. My excitement this year was reserved for Tobias Dostal and Markobi and WOW did they deliver!

they sure did

As I've been saying.....when Craig Petty keeps it half long and twice strong I'm in! Until then 9 hour tutorials are too much for me to commit to. Even if I watch a few at a time it's still there in the back of my mind and will require the time commitment at some point. Rather get more bang for my buck elsewhere as I don't want to invest that time unless it's the greatest trick of the year (maybe) lol

"Prolific" isn't ripping off old tricks and repackaging them under new titles. Sorry, but it seems like everything he produces is an old trick from an old book.
@JohnSimpson-r5d6 күн бұрын
Bringing an old trick back to life is commendable.
@TheMagicofVVonTobel6 күн бұрын
You're probably right. I just have a hard time buying the same trick twice, even if it uses different props.
@jamesmauch85736 күн бұрын
The value comes from a) the gimics are new tools, and b) the teaching is good. While he does teach existing concepts, depending on your learning style, he does so pretty well. Finally, the things he brings out connect the relevance of the moves and philosophies to real-world applications, and he does it in a fresh way. It is true that if you are an experienced magician, you probably won't get as much out of it. I also think it is a matter of preference; some people learn differently, and I think you have to be in sync with Craig's style.
@cart60696 күн бұрын
@@jamesmauch8573 Agree - even though Craig’s character is not my style and some of his releases certainly don’t fit my character and or taste (and some don’t fit my performing language unfortunately so at times they need an extra mile to go to adapt them) but his way of thinking to revive, expand and combine old wine in new flasks is inspiring. It is like he puts everything into the mix and you can choose what you use or condense into something fitting your needs - or to think of how can I myself brush up an oldie and make it relevant for today.
