My Mini Roulette has just arrived this morning. A couple of things that I have noticed.... firstly it is slightly smaller (including the bags) than portrayed on the accompanying video. Secondly I don't think there is a need for all 4 blocks to have holes in them......like you say you don't want the audience to know that the spike is removable, so why make it obvious that the spike can indeed be placed into either of the blocks. Four round pieces of sticky backed material also comes with the box.....this is apparently to be placed inside the holes to reduce any noise.......my idea is to use them to actually cover the holes of 3 of the blocks and make it look like a 'non scuff base material' and place the 4th one actually on the base of the block i use for my spike. To the audience they will see 4 blocks with felt bases (no holes) and only 1 block with a pre set spike stick out of it.

This has some advantages over the stage version I think. Telling the spec you want them to mix the bags but not know which one it’s in (you mix them behind their back first) covers the meddling with the contents issue I think.

David - when you mentioned negatives, you did not mention that there is one version that has some risk of physical harm. That is a pretty big negative!

Not sure about this one or why it needs to be mini. I think we have all seen the horror shots of magi getting a spike through their hand. There is a foolproof version on the market from Scott Alexander that is very good and very deceiving. This trick gets amazing reaction from the audience but it is definitely not a kids birthday trick or a school show. It is geek magic at its finest.
