First: thanks as always for the insights. I have the JJ notebook on pre-order. Second: congratulations on your KZbin anniversary. I look forward to your knowledgeable and well-delivered reviews. Third: on the subject of number effects, are you familiar with Marc Paul's opening routine on the Penguin Live Lecture, May 17, 2015 (named: ? I think it is fantastic --- made even more so by the fact that it can be customized in endless ways depending on the mentalist's individual style, theme and storyline. Moreover, it can be "adjusted" to dovetail with each performance. I'll say no more so-as to not give away much. I used a version of this as an opener for a recent show and it is a great way to immediately engage an audience. Above all it is as close to foolproof as you can get. If you are not familiar with the routine it is well worth checking out.

Hey Mark, yes I do! In fact in the opening video on this episode, the reverse of the large board was Marc’s effect. As you said, it’s really great too! 👍🏻

Wow. Looks amazing. Even if one knows the concept, no way that it fits in such a thin space.

Another super review Nique. Important question: what material is it made from and how durable is it? If used daily for example, how long before the notebook wears out (eg starts to come apart at the hinge)? Cheers!

Thank you for watching Ben. The covers are made from a thin plastic/vinyl type of material; the type you’d find on some notepads. I wouldn’t be concerned on wear and tear on the covers if used with some care. But as you mentioned, my only concern is with the hinge. I’m unsure what it’s made of; might be some kind of fabric. I haven’t had it long enough to know but I suspect it’d be the first part to give way with regular use. To repair it, I’d probably go with well cut and placed strips of black tape.

@@niquetan I forgot to ask: will this replace your usual add a number pad? What is your favourite, go to pad? (thinking about it, it might be helpful to end reviews by telling us if you think the product will become your 'everyday carry' or part of your performing set) 🤓

@@benlevy6732 I love to experiment with methods; the effects and routines in my show hardly ever change, but methods occasionally do. So I will definitely be giving this a go in my sequence. I haven’t had the chance to perform at all, and so it’s too early to tell if this will become my method of choice. I don’t really have a favourite, but I use The Fox more often than not. Lu Chen’s looks the fairest to me, but requires more effort in audience management though. Thank you for the suggestions in my reviews! 🤗

Great video! I'm new to this plot, but the convenience and size begs this to be used casually, can it? Or is this more for stage?
@niquetan3 жыл бұрын
Hey Nathan. While it does look like a close up prop, due to the nature of the method used alongside it, I’d only be comfortable using it on stage. However, if using it in other ways apart from number type predictions, I’m sure it can be used close up too!
