I believe you can change the date without having to go through the time forwarding. If you pull the stem all the way out and then lightly press it in for one click, you can then turn the stem through the dates, once done you can press the stem in again with a second click to resume the watch operation. Pulling the stem all of the way out will allow you to change the time as normal.

As a watch guy [I own about 35 [ I can see this is a cheap and cheerful Chinese quartz that will keep fantastic time but won't have fantastic quality control so it will be hit or miss on how tight the bezel is ,which can be tightened up if you know how but entails levering it off with a butter knife and adjusting the spring clip inside ; Not all watches have a quick date feature [this is a cheap movement and might not] but if it does you just push the crown in one position from where you set the time and turn it anti clockwise and it flies thru the dates super fast .Also you can change the strap for any of that size [usuaully 20 or 22 mm]most of which are quick release nowadays and only takes seconds .You can change up the look every day this way .Did you end up keeping this one David and if so how did it hold up over time?

Here is a hint from an experienced Analog Watch wearer 😉. You only wind until the date changes. Then you wind the crown back one turn and forth again one turn and hop, the date changes again. Do this until you get to the correct date. With 31 quick flicks of the hand you move through a whole month. It is really quick. 😀

the date 2️⃣5️⃣ change is the same as any good watch ... I have original version ... Peter Turner’s support to customers is great ( ie his recent owners only 1 1/2 hour live session of answering questions, doing performances and tips) ... thanks for the review David 👍🏻 ⏱
I purchased Stack Watch version 1. Worst magic purchase in years. The bezel shifts position with even the tiniest accidental bump. I shared my concerns with Ellusionist and they sent me a replacement. The bezel on that one was even easier to accidentally move. Sent that one back and put the first one in a drawer, never to be used again. IMHO, it's a cheap piece of junk. The version 2 doesn't look any better. My Stack Watch experience, combined with the ridiculous rebirth of Ellusionist stunt they pulled a few weeks ago, means I will never make a purchase from Ellusionist again.

The date only setting in one way is pretty common on most watches it has something to do with protecting the gear train. I don't own a stack watch but i do collect watches and you should be able to pull the crown out halfway to set the date. You should also take care not to change the date near the time it turns over. Of tou have to just set the time back a couple hours, fix the date, then fix the time or just do it during the day.

Another great review! I'm two months into memorizing this and I keep getting stuck at the 4 of clubs 😑. But I'm only putting in about 6 hours a day on it so I'm not too disappointed in myself 😂 I wanted to say this two days ago but didn't want this comment up when the video was new, but I got a feel you really didn't like this thing. Taking 5 seconds to scroll through the days to change the date isn't a big deal, but you spending a minute twenty on it made me think you were giving us a sort of wink to avoid it. Anyways, if I'm WAY off on that, no big deal because it didn't cost them a sale as I don't wear a watch and wouldn't have bought it regardless. If for some reason you're still reading my rambling, I've been meaning to ask you something regarding wallets. I've recently put a lot of time into my cop and am about to make my first wallet purchase and the only thing I want it for is edc and c2w. After seeing almost everyone rave about the FPS, I was surprised it didn't show up on your top 5. So now I'm stuck between FPS and the one by Kun. Is the money clip the only reason the FPS didn't make your tip 5 list? If I liked folds and clips equally, which wallet do you think is best for the c2w move? I realize I put this at the end of a novel so if you don't see it I'll ask in a shorter form on a later vid 😂

I spent the time to tell people how to change the time - because I knew people would watch my video JUST FOR THAT one piece of info - so I wanted to help as much as I could. Cribs are fine but they are actually not easy to use well. People instinctively follow your eyes, and lots of performers tip that they are using a crib if they are not careful about it. A memdeck crib on a watch 1)can't be seen when a deck is held in left hand dealing grip (the position that deck is likely to be in a lot of the time) 2) is hard to see unless you have good eyesight and lighting, and 3) puts the crib in a place that people will notice you looking (and looking at your watch is often considered rude). There is a good "security" crib described in Mnemonica that is free and doesn't require you to coordinate it with your shoes. If you buy phoenix decks, you get a free crib that can hide pretty well in plain site and has stack numbers! I can't see the justification for spending $50 on this, when you could spend it on any of a number of excellent memdeck books (Any of Simon Aaronson's books, Woody Aragon's Book, Pit Hartling's Book, all of them sit at around $50 or $60 if they are in print), or on marked decks (there's a good crib! especially with a memdeck!) or even a plain watch that works with your outfit. Also, do I understand you correctly that you need to move through every minute of every day in order advance the date? My calendar watch has a separate winder position (halfway) that only moves the calendar. And it isn't a Rolex. Unless I misunderstand you this thing looks like a bad crib on a mediocre watch.

Disagree. The bezel movement has changed in that its tighter and there is now a date on the face not to mention the band adjustments. Had they not rushed out V1 they would not even have a V2. 9 months R&D? I think not. More of the same from these guys. Money grab. I have purchased somethings from E that I am very happy with but overall, they leave a bad taste.
@magicthespian68663 жыл бұрын
@@DJRosen Again, more just different... The V1 was not rushed, it was a concept Pete was working on for a really long time and finally found someone to put the investment in. The band of the V1 is also not bad, just different, yet something people are not used to -- nor popularly like (justifiably so), yet still a preference. You are bringing up preferences, yelling money grab and asserting negativity that does not need to exist on a public forum in an already toxic community people are trying to build up better and evolve from. Lift up the things you love or constructively criticize. Keep your anger directed elsewhere.
@DJRosen3 жыл бұрын
@@magicthespian6866 we will have to agree to disagree. To come out with a fixed version 9 months later is crap not to mention the fact that it's rendered v1 essentially unsellable as well.

This is a perfect example of a magic product that doesn't need to exist. Here's any idea, just learn the stack and don't rely on this. You should know the stack inside out and have instant recall before you perform any effects and fumbling with a watch is just a bad bad idea. Their own ad copy says "You don't need to try to learn it... requires no work" . I completely disagree. OR just print out the stack order and stick it on the card box if you insist. I've just saved you plenty of money. You're welcome.
