I love the bonus psychology tips that you provide man! This is the bread and butter of a good trick. I myself stopped calling them 'tricks' cause it conveys that there's a method and it discounts it already. So I started calling them 'effects' or just 'something that happens'

Great review, thanks. Seems right up there with the ball and vase, but perhaps the Muggles would still be fooled.

Love the name of this trick. I can kind of envision how this is done. How does he get it so clean on the video though?
@magicorthodoxy2 жыл бұрын
the great thing about video is you can do it over and over

I think that if you could immediately switch the silk for a non gimmicked one that you could casually lay on the table for inspection ... maybe that might improve things a bit. There are many devious ways to do that.

About silk, are you planning to review Arrival from David Regal? And same the second I saw Thin Air I knew how it worked, simple and yet still a clever way of doing :)

The spectator shouldn't notice anything "fishy" if the magician is skilled (practiced) at handling the silk and cards and at captivating their attention with patter. Hopefully you will be able to review arrival by David Regal! Thanks David for another terrific review!

everyone wants me to check out arrival !!!
@johnandmonicaosterloh73602 жыл бұрын
I bought Arrival directly from Mr. Regal's website. It is a bit pricier but his teaching is top notch and you are getting a very elegant effect. The one necessary "sleight" is taught by Mr. Regal in the video instructions and the rest is nearly self-working. If you have your own favorite control, even better. I consider myself to be of average skill level and I was confidently performing Arrival in about 30 minutes. Most of your time will be spent trying ways to "fold" the deck in the scarf and tying it, but that is just to enhance the opening presentation of the effect.

The video when thought about with the title thin air makes me have a understanding of the method. Although I'm not interested, maybe it's for you. Price fair @ $25.00. Good reviewing gives me the heads up! Besides the point a 50/50 for a Mentalist is pretty good, I was hoping you'd guess Yes or No. Oh well ahaha! P.S. David, have you ever heard of the Wizards Hanky?!

Quick question for the Magic Review king... Do you see yourself inventing your own magic effect in the near future? Quantum deck was a severe let down for me personally.. I feel like you have some ideas up your sleeve?
@magicorthodoxy2 жыл бұрын
man you gotta be pretty balsy to invent your own trick - there is so much good stuff out there already
@jacksonbollock2 жыл бұрын
Like you say, seems pretty obvious. Meh. Is it really much different to David Regal's Arrival (which looks more elegant and I trust his routining/teaching over pretty much anyone)?

David Regal is amazing

The changing alignment of the corners is such a blatant visual flag. I can't imagine a spectator wouldn't immediately suspect the silk.I think it's horrible for social media because the viewer can watch it multiple times and definitely notice.
@magicorthodoxy2 жыл бұрын
it just means you make your social post perfect so that no discrepancy can be seen
@randbaldwin2 жыл бұрын
Wish they perfected it for the trailer. I think it would be best performed once as visual eye candy and immediately toss the silk and go into a card trick with the produced cards. Look forward to seeing your short. :)

very good review David,tku for sharing you covered everything that is important, and distributed by vanishing inc that provide excellent response to their clients, fast and reliable ,not like other companies like henryharrius presents that have good quality products, but NEVER REPLY to their customers....many time Ie mail them with a question about a product that I bought and expensive,but they never answered me....henry you are a great guy but your employes and customer services are the WORST OF THE WORST
