Thanks Kahlil, I truly love what I am doing but don't judge too early ;) My life is hard work, many times between 13 and 16 hours a day :) And a lot of travel on top. And hardly true holidays. But its ok - its the life I chose :) and I love it that way.

also for refference, in Australia, the Phase one XF body is $60,000 ( with the IQ-4 {150MP} sensor back included+ 80mm standard lens (6x4.5cm format)), I think the XT is a little less than this (~$35,000?), as the xf has a separate focal plane shutter, electrics, viewfinder, etc inside the body(plus it's own battery); conversely the XT is simmilar to an ALPA TC body, shift controls, shutter button, turning tripod mount,THAT's all, the IQ-4 has the electric shutter, and all else, it is designed to work together, as a "kit" the back interface even changes into "XT-mode" giving coordinates to the shift, so the Capture One inside the IQ-4 can correct for CA, Distortion, vignetting, etc. as well as giving the user ONLY what is strictly nessesary to use when shooting, minimal distractions.

Canon TS-E lenses have been able to do a 3x3 shift stitch for over a decade. I use this technique all the time.

How to move right and up at the same time?
@EyeCaptureImages4 жыл бұрын
@@frankluo230 All current TS-E lenses (and newer Nikon PC-E lenses) give you the ability to rotate the shift axis. I own 3 TS-E lenses so I can speak from experience. While rotating the shift axis, there are 2 notches where you can shift the lens diagonally - moving right and up at the same time. At least 2 of the lenses in his collection have the ability to do this already without adding any adapters - which would likely affect image quality as well.

That's a great idea, I've been learning about these ts lenses for commercial photography use and I love this kind of hacks. I've seen some similar adapters on alliexpress but they don't have the magnifying element, they are hollow. Which may benefit your image quality since your dedicated T&S lenses already have a big enough image circle. That Phase One looks Gorgeous!

It is possible to make a 67 to 645 shift adapter, and there are 645 to mirrorless shift adapters. So it's technically possible to have a double shift adapter without introducing another optical element. It might be even possible to to adapt 645 lenses to mirrorless with double shift. Sounds like a fun 3D print project.

Just want to say, that my 45 year old Pentax 28mm/f3.2 Shift lens, shifts and rotates around a clock face - taking 12 images, with the 13th in the center. It takes in all the corners, producing an incredible stitched image.

Thanks for this informative video. What do you think about mounting a 35mm Mamiya M645 medium format lens on shift adapter for sony e mount camera? The equivalent would be 21mm. Would this achieve shift functionality, and sharp images?

Nice video. Can you keep smaller apertures on TS-E lens when teke off it from a sony mirrorless camera using a EF-E adapter with electronic contacts?
@GodfreyMann2 жыл бұрын
One advantage you missed out: this adapter has a tripod collar, which means the lens doesn’t move: the camera body shifts around the lens thus keeping the identical perspective between shifts. But the Canon tilt-shift lenses don’t have a tripod collar ie it’s the camera that attaches to the tripod and the Canon lenses shift left and right and with each shift comes a slight change in perspective. That’s the theory, but is it relevant is in real-world application or is it unnoticeable?
@Tokomaru24 жыл бұрын
It would have been interesting to compare these results with a simple prime lens being shifted using the tripod.

Unfortunately it appears Laowa does not offer this in L mount at this time. This begs the question - are there any adapters you know of to get PC lenses working (with aperture control) on L mount bodies?

The SA 28 mm Pc shift I have allows for 45° shift. The lens was also available in other mounts. I bought mine with an M42 mount. I contacted Schneider to ask for a Nikon F mount. They had only 2 pieces remaining, so I bought one of them. So my Schneider 28mm PC shift is now used a lot on the Nikon F3, and with adapter on a Sony A7Rii with 42mp. I bought the Schneider 28mm because it has no distortion. The others, Nikon and Canon are inferior.

Hi, thank you for the video. This is very useful! I am really surprised that we can use lenses other than Laowa with this converter. Looks like I was misled in the camera shop, where I asked about it some time ago (and left the theme out)... Good to know that! BTW regarding the TS lenses, for high-resolution purposes you can use diagonal shifting, working on rotation. It is perhaps not that convenient compromise but if there is enough time - very usable. Excellent! Did you win the Lottery? You have many thousands of Pounds, worth of gear. Lovely! Thanks for this. PS: At 22.15, why did you "Mask", the info window? One thing, and a bit of a bonus, because the MSC, has a tripod mount, you can now, move the Camera, as opposed to the Lens, to make your Panorama. This, as you may appreciate, stops the slight change of angle, you get when moving the Lens, in relation to the subject. Great tip, on choosing the Aperture.

As a sometimes large format photographer, it is *not* a "shift" lens unless I can correct for convergence or change my plane of focus away from parallel to the film frame. Up, down, side to side I find next to useless. Just my experience and opinion.

Nice technical video but At 300 dpi that's a 1.4x0.8 m print ! Why not using 4x5 film view camera which gives you all the corrections you'd need very cheaply. Very rarely we need prints that size. Drum scanning the film will cost way less than a Canon TS-E. Also the technique works only in landscapes or barely moving objects. A 4x5 view camera let's you capture a moment. Thanks for the efforts though.
