It was J'zargo's cloak intended to be effective to undead but... there is one problem the explosion harms you, the player. I don't know but I think J'zargo intends to kill me with his scrolls.

Destruction is technically the most valuable path in conflicts human v human where logic can give way to better success. Like, you can be a spy, and set fires without any evidence of what material was used for an investigation so they don't have any leads other than eye witness. And you can defend yourself when vulnerable or in captivity. Like if you have shackles on. But by glory, he means the power getting to his head of course.

Fun fact: There's a perk you can get from Hermaeus Mora in the Dragonborn DLC that makes spells cost no magicka for a short time. If you cast and hold a concentration spell during its effect and past the buff's expiration, it will continue to be free. The master level lightning spell is concentration. Channel your inner Sith Lord and obtain unlimited power.

I wish casting magic actually looked this cool in Skyrim... I hate that spells are so lacking in versitility compared to weapons... I mean, if I have a fire spell, I should be able to do more with that than just plainly shoot a fireball, perhaps I could charge it up and fire a barrage of flaming orbs, or I could throw it like a curveball to catch my opponent off guard or bypass his defences, or I could create a flaming whip that creates a trail of fire across the ground, or breathe fire like shown here...
