Should have my Magic Square Devastator in next week. Can't wait. The more videos I watch of their figures the more impressed I am. They seem more like 3D puzzles than toys.

I love how for the G1 versions stat card, the Courage stat bar is just completely absent

I'm color blind, so I see very little difference between the 2, other than the face and windshield that you pointed out. Looks good in both mode, I wish it was mainline size. Great review!

my grandfather is also color blind so he knows depending on what type of color blind he’ is but if it’s the same he knows how you feel

Gorgeous figs, both of them. I think I prefer the clear windshield in alt-mode, but the blue windshield in bot-mode. And, as I've said before, when I order the remaining figs I'm going to inquire about buying the lighter faceplate for my toon version. My current boggle is which of my Decepticon symbols do I use? The purple hood eliminates my typical purple w/ clear trim option which leaves me with purple w/silver trim or silver w/ purple trim. AND since I'm using my silver decals here, do I want to carry them through the other four (five if I get two Onslaughts) or use my purple w/clear? Decisions. 😆

Awesome review. Not going to lie… that transformation looks fiddle as hell. I admire Magic Square and have a few of my own (Optimus v1 and v2, Hound, and Mirage), so I feel like I have a pretty decent understanding of their transformations… it’s almost like Origami… there’s a special kind of magic (no pun intended) in how they can fold stuff up into such a compact space. That being said, their transformations is actually why I prefer NewAge, which has transformations that are still a lot of fun and mildly complex, but can be completed relatively quickly. I wish NewAge would do some more combiners. I personally have no problems with their “frame” decision for Devastator. The thing is incredibly solid, stands up well, looks just like the cartoon and has insane articulation. That said… the Magic Square Menasor really tempted me. I was going to get the box set, but I read there were a ton of QC issues (don’t want to risk getting a Motormaster with a crazy fragile leg). I’m guessing this Bruticus is going to be badass, but again… the transformations scare me away. Hopefully Newage fires back with another combiner of their own. Again… gin did a kickass review, man. Thanks for all of the detail.

Thanks for watching! The only qc issue on menasor that know of is the leg on Motormaster. I didn't have that problem, but Magic Square has awesome customer service and would make it right if it did happen. I'm really looking forward to finishing Bruticus!

I have the toon version. They decide on one color of blue representative of a Simpson's sky for the windshield and the artist while attempting accuracy must over all consider making the absolute very best single color scheme. I don't think they left out the grey paint to try and get the toon accurate buyer to have to buy another set or to save a little. I believe they thought that while the grey looked good with one blue it didn't compliment the other.

That's possible, the face on the toon version doesn't bother me as much as some. But it would have been easy to add an alternate face with gray to the package.

now for me this was a big buy regardless. BUT, I can't deny the fact that they did some slime ish with the faceplate and the windshield. it should had been clear on both and same with the faceplate. my swindle.came.with a slight defect on the windshield just to add insult to injury smh lol Liv the review my dude. can't wait for onslaught 🤘

i prefer the solid windshield in bot mode, too. I only slightly prefer the gray face. On the forums the roll out is caused a stir but someone recently pointed out that in the constructicon/stunticon threads, people were complaining about all the parts included they said they'd never use. I think MS is just reacting to what people say they want but are finding they can't make everyone happy all the time. I personally love and support MS. Love their stuff.

I agree, they can't think of everything, nor please everyone. They are doing a fantastic job on their figures though.
