Ravnica: City of Guilds came out in 2005, not 2004. That was a misspeak on my part.

Mark was a real one for this 🎉

I think it's also worth noting the language change after this set. People no longer say, black blue deck, they say "dimir". This set really defined 2 color combinations and we continue to use the language developed from this set today.

Very interesting that Richard Garfield designed the convoke mechanic. It's probably the most well-rounded of the bunch

My biggest regret is that I started magic on the ending of Odyssey block, when Mirrodin was coming out. I was captivated by the look and feel of the game, only to see that feel taken away a few months later, with "futuristic" and "modernistic" feel that Mirrodin block brought up. Then, Kamigawa was a deviation from the tradional Magic flavor, and that was too much for me. I played, in love with the glimpse I had of the game, for 5 or so years, quitting at about the release of Saviors of Kamigawa. My second biggest regret is this, I should have endured until Ravnica, for that true, authentic, Magic feeling to come back. Now, 20 years later, I got back to the game after selling, a few years ago, all my cards, and all it's left are memories and regrets ❤️

This was the set that got me into magic! i remember trying the game on the mirrodin block but i didn’t quite liked. Few years later i was studying the Renaissance in school and all kids were playing with this ravnica block, It fell so fitting that i started to enjoy everything about the game, the art, colors, flavor texts and mostly the guilds. i’ll aways be grateful for this block and the people who took part on making it.

Ravnica was great when it came out, still super fun. Unfortunately like Maro alluded to, theyve done nothing but desperately try to remake Ravnica 20 times over. Not for me but im OLD

@@Dre2Dee2 not sure if they've rebuilt it with the new set, but I do like the three colour gang thing and it's kinda fun, each has some strong fun, and enjoying to death the red green white one, especially in arena's alchemy.
