Agree on the music...I talk to and stroke the plants as well and talk to the lizards scampering through the foliage...awesome choice on the figs btw, I have 2 trees in my yard and they are both fruiting, love their leaves. Wish I could grow lavender, but Florida is just too hot, it's a real chore figuring out what will grow well here, but I've learned a lot in 2 years, lots of native plant nurseries and plants for permiculture food growing, Seminole pumpkins and sweet potatoes are on the menu, but so much is edible and fun to discover...you always put me in the mood to go back out for another hour of the scorching heat...then back in to the air conditioning...have a great weekend as well...!

Fig! Inspired idea ❤ If the lavender doesn't work out , you can always switch ... The contrast of leaf texture and colour is great. Wish my garden looked like that.😊 Will start talking nicely to the plants...and give them a good shower to music. Thanks Chip

Sitting with my tea & toast, I watched this early morning inspiration for my newly designed pebble and container garden. After preparing the plot, and sorting out the surface area, I am frozen into inactivity, I have been dithering about choosing plants. I'm calling it The Japanese Garden, but every day it gets a new title. I'm starting with a lovely acer,. Not just because it's Japanese, but because I love them. But I think having a theme is getting in the way as it's discounting plants I absolutely love, and also limiting the number of plants I can have. So I'm throwing the theme ( and all titles) out the window. Thank you, Chip, for this much-needed shot in the arm. I think I'm off to buy a fig.

Totally agree about height … in addition to an Olive tree in a pot I’ve just added four 12 ft pencil cypresses in pots against my house wall in my small space and they work beautifully to give some scale to the planting and balance the 9ft high pergola at the other end of my green courtyard style garden 🙂

Lovely design ideas. Was watching and wondering why you did not put the plants in first. Easier without the obelisks in the way, and it would also weight the containers in position, plus, most importantly, keep any dropped soil off the immaculate pebbles if they went in later, after the obelisks? So therapeutic for you watering all the area at the end, which will keep humidity levels up so the plants do not dry out as quickly. Good job. Wishing you happy gardening.

Meraviglia delle meraviglie è stato veramente rilassante ma anche istruttivo e penso che un fico lo pianteró anch'io. Ma vorrei sapere se il vaso dove ha piantato il fico è di ferro se sì non si scalda troppo col sole ???

Just a bit confused with the planting figs and lavenders like sun but you’ve planted them at the side of ferns and a grass the I think is also shade loving
@ChipsGreenWorld
@ChipsGreenWorld Ай бұрын
Hi John 🤠 yes I can see exactly where you’re coming from .. the courtyard is a bit tricky with the sun and shade especially around this time of year .. this middle point portion in the courtyard is often shaded most of the year but for a couple of months in high summer it gets pretty much all sun ☀️ so I’m hoping the figs will grow to meet the sun and the lavender will be moved once it’s finished blooming.. as it’s already been moved in the new episode 👍🏼 and now I will plant around the fig with more shade tolerant plants that I can enjoy though the winter months Hope that helps.. all the very best 🌱 Chip

Hi Barbara and thank you for your concern 🤠 I intend to Topiaries the two Figs I planted , I thought I mentioned this in the vlog .. I maybe should have been clearer.. they will only be allowed to get 10ft tall and no wider than two feet .. and all foliage will be pruned away up to 5ft from the ground.. so they will be large Bonsai 👍🏼 🤭 giggle Hope that puts your mind at peace ✌🏻 🌱 Chip
