Blind Faith consisted of Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Ric Grech. Clapton and Baker had played together in Cream and Winwood came over from Traffic. As Blind Faith they only produced one album and had a 3 month summer tour before they broke up. This song is amazing. So much talent packed into one group. Steve Winwood's vocals are so beautiful and Clapton's guitar work is palpable. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦

My FAVORITE song for over 50 years! Written as a duet but generally sung as a solo. Tells the struggle of drug addiction. Winwoods voice is ethereal....so full of pain. One of the most covered songs ever! Capton and Yvonne Elaman do a beautiful duet of it and House of Lords does a double.... acoustic then hard rock that is pretty cool!

This song became very popular during the Hippie movement. “I’m wasted and I can’t find my way home” was something of a Hippie theme. I was a Hippie that left home and spent time in Haight Ashbury, and The sunset strip. I remember relating to this; being on the road; wasted on psychedelic drugs and getting home sick. I almost died from the drugs; but finally got my life together. Steve Winwood is one of my all time favorites.

Legendary drummer Ginger Baker was in Cream with Clapton and Jack Bruce (bass), as well as The Baker-Gurvitz Army. No one ever seems to mention Ric Grech, who was a member of the groups Family and Traffic. Anyway, this whole album is amazing. They were a true 'Supergroup'. The original album cover was banned, for obvious reasons. 'Presence of the Lord' is a must hear. I love Clapton's acoustic guitar work on this song.

Even now, in his 70s, Steve Winwood still sings this song beautifully. His voice has obviously matured but still has that magical, otherworldly quality to it when it comes to this masterpiece. I highly recommend finding him performing this alone on a guitar at his farm, in front of a fire. It was like the fire knew just when to crackle to accent the song. I love when you guys dig in and appreciate music that I loved when I was younger (and still do) - it re-reminds me why I loved these songs in the first place. Do yourselves another favor and look up Clapton and Winwood live from around 2009 - pure magic.

Ginger Baker was the first rock superstar drummer. He notably was in Cream with Clapton. Before that he was in the Graham Bond Organisation and later formed the band Ginger Baker's Air Force. Ric Grech, the bassist, though not as well known, played bass, cello, ,and violin (and sometimes sang lead) in the band Family . He later joined Winwood when he reformed Traffic after Blind Faith ended.

Eric Clapton's acoustic guitar work is masterful. He produced an album during the MTV years for their "Unplugged Series" The album " Eric Clapton Unplugged" was so good it motivated me to learn how to play guitar. The entire album is amazing, the three songs that I really love are "Layla", "Old Love", and "Lonely Stranger". I recommend any of those songs for reaction. I would be remiss not to mention "Tears in Heaven" which is as moving a song that has ever been produced.

Steve Winwood's organ performance on "Gimme Some Lovin'" is one of the best song intros around. It just grabs your attention the Steve's vocals reel you in. Some of my favourite Clapton Song/Covers that I like to listen to and play are "After Midnight" (written by JJ Cale from Oklahoma City), "Knockin' On Heavens Door" (written by Bob Dylan) and "Tore Down" (Written by Sunny Thompson). Others I enjoy are "Badge" (written by Clapton and George Harrison, recorded by Cream), "For Your Love" with the Yardbirds, "Ramblin' On My Mind (with John Mayall's Blues Breakers) and "Let It Grow (from Clapton's solo album 461 Ocean Boulevard). Clapton is deep rabbit hole. He started in 1962 and is still going. 🎸😎

Steve on vocals. Steve and Eric on guitars. Steve is a deeply underrated guitarist. Ginger was the drummer from Cream (featuring Eric) which broke up a year earlier. Eric didn't want Ginger in this band as he was a very difficult person to work with and one of the reasons Cream crashed, but he happened to be there when they went to record and his style fit perfect with the sound. His volatility helped end this band as well, but Eric was driving force of the break up. So Eric went solo, Steve, Ric and Ginger (with others) formed Ginger Baker's Air Force. Steve and Chris Wood left that band and reformed Traffic. They recorded their best album (John Barleycorn Must Die) and the Ric left Air Force and joined Traffic. Ric left music in 1977 and died in 1990 at 44.. Ginger died in 2019 at 80.

I think that Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Mitch Mitchell would have been great together.

@@coinneachmaclellan3121 Jack Bruce may be the only one not to play with any other the others besides with Eric. Steve played with Mitch on the Electric Ladyland album and Eric and Mitch were half of The Dirty Mac. But Jack played with a lot of people over tge years.

Steve Winwood is often associated with just the Hammond B3 organ. But he is an incredible guitarist as well. Ginger Baker was just as much a jazz drummer as a rock drummer.

You found another supergroup!! May I recommend an 80s supergroup that you haven't done yet? They're called The Firm, and they were comprised of Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Tony Franklin (Whitesnake), and Chris Slade (AC/DC). Their big hit was "Radioactive". For Steve Winwood, I think you'll love "Valerie" and "Freedom Overspill".

Ginger Baker was considered one of Englands best drummers and Jack Bruce one of the best bass players. And with Eric Clapton they made up Cream!

In 1974 Ric Grech joined an early supergroup in the U.S. called KGB. The K was Ray Kennedy (co author of Sail On Sailor) a great vocalist. The B was Mike Bloomfield (blues guitar God). Carmine Appice played the drums. It was a fantastic album. Bloomfield and Grech left the band soon after the album released. That album has the greatest version of Sail On Sailor on it that I have ever heard.

Stevie Winwood was lead singer in The Spencer Davis Group. They had hits with "Gimme Some Lovin" & "Keep On Runnin", both great songs. Steve Winwood has one THE best voices. And has been around forever. 🎵🎼

And BTW.... that pic on your wall with Dino, Sammie and Frank... actually had dinner at that same table one night. It's in an old Vegas club off the strip. They all went there because the main strip Vegas restaurants wouldn't allow Sammie in. You go there, there's also an Elvis table where he used to eat. Sat there, too. Best old club in Vegas. Old school bartenders. Coolest experience in Vegas and little known.

Blind Faith may have split up quickly, but they left and indelible mark on music. "Had to Cry Today," "Presence of the Lord," and "Well All Right," are a few other great tracks from this album. Here are some songs from Steve and Eric's solo work. Steve Winwood: "Roll With It," "While You See A Chance," "Back in the Highlife Again," "Valerie," and "The Finer Things." For Eric Clapton, "Tears in Heaven," (LIVE version please), "Forever Man," "She's Waiting," "It's in the Way That You Use it," "Bad Love," "Pretending," "Before You Accuse Me," "Motherless Children," "Running on Faith," and "Tearing Us Apart" (with Tina Turner) will get you started.

This 1969 complete album is a list of classic's. The original press cover in England was not issued in the USA because it had a waistup photo of an 11-year-old girl on the cover. She held a stylised spacescraft in her hands. I think it was meant to portray Blind Faith & innocence. Those were different times and mindsets Jay. Also was before I became a father, that does open ones eyes! The music is still wonderful. Amelas-One-1953

You guys reacted to Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love", where you can really hear Ginger Baker's drums. It was a very primal sort of sound he could create. He was nicknamed Ginger because of his red, red hair. 🙂
