Your coloring is so beautiful, and at the same time the way you color feels approachable for someone who is learning, and not intimidating.

I have had to watch this bit by bit, because I can only try to relax right before bedtime. It has been a wonderful experience all the way through. Thank you so much. I am a beginner who hasn't really started yet, but am trying to learn from wonderful artists like you, so I can stop being afraid to try to color in the wonderful book my daughter got me as a gift. I'm so afraid of messing it up!

Beautiful and relaxing, Julie! It’s nice just to watch and listen to this peaceful music. Are you erasing with the square and tombow zero at the end to remove background dust from the soft pastels? It looks like the tombow zero sharpened up your edges very nicely. I haven’t tried their products yet. Next on my list is to purchase those Mungyo soft pastels I watched you using in another video. Ooo, I love the way you approach backgrounds. No fuss, just get some nice soft color down and your done. I have no patience doing backgrounds with the colored pencils, so really happy I watched you working with the pastels. The effect is just great. Thank you for sharing.

My pleasure, yes using tombow pencil eraser, good for erasing small areas and details...

Julie you do just beautiful work and it helps so much with people like me that still stumble but slowly making progress. I cannot get that technique you use to color. I tend to go in little circles from dark to light. I just struggle trying the technique you use which is beautiful. I am about finished and like others, I thank you for helping so many of us who love to color.

Wow, you’re awesome! I love the way you don’t have to combine 5 separate colors to make it look beautiful. It’s the blending that makes it work. That’s so refreshing. New sub.

Are you using the Prismacolor Premiers from Mexico, or are these the older ones from Sanders which are suppose to be much better, please? You seem to have to wipe away (powder or dust?) quite often. Is this a problem with Pismacolors, or does it just depend on how much pressure you use when coloring? Thanks, Dee
@Juliespassionforcoloring5 жыл бұрын
I don’t know where they are from, bought them on amazon.com I always give a lot of pressure but these pencils are wax based, they give a bit dust but really not much
@deepowers31175 жыл бұрын
The reason I asked about where your pencils were made was because Sanders had sold the rights to Prismacolors to Rubbermaid who started having the pencils made in Mexico. The quality dropped drastically and there have been many complaints and bad reviews. Because of this I have been afraid to buy them, but the ones you are using here are blending so beautifully. Could you tell me how long ago you bought them on Amazon? Should I feel it's safe to buy their 150 color set?
@rmuller3664 жыл бұрын
Dee Powers, it is well worth getting over fear of buying these fabulous pencils. I’ve been using my prismacolor pencils for about a year and have only had one break after sharpening. I’m pretty sure it was my fault too. Buy a good sharpener. I use the same one Johanna uses by Steidtler (sp?) They’re not expensive and you can get them on Amazon. Sharpen correctly and often. Correctly means turning the sharpener toward you with your non dominant hand and holding the pencil very still. Also, you don’t have to press hard like most pencils because the pigment is so strong, so careful with the pressure. You should have no issues and will be so happy with prismacolor.

If you were to suggest a budget friendly pencil what would you suggest that's readily available, I wish I could afford the prismas but can't right now, I own feelas buti want to try something else

Mrs Bone I heard the Arteza pencils are really nice, but the biggest set is only 72 pencils. I'm going to get them to try myself. I just got my Prismacolors! 💖I'm so excited, I've been wanting them for quite a while now. If you're in the US I found a place that has a coupon and you can get the 150 pencil set for about $80, that's $40 less than Amazon or anywhere else really. I searched for the best deal for quite a while. The place I got them was Jerry's Art Supply.
@patadams43835 жыл бұрын
@@Sharon-pb7so The Artezas now have a 120 set, I just got them for Christmas. I love the colors in the set and they are good pencils, the color lays down smoothly but in all honesty they do now blend great, at least not on the paper in Basford's World of Flowers which is the only thing I have used them on so far. Hope this helps.
