Welcome back to Episode 3 of Magical Kitchen! Hopefully I made Aunt Petunia proud... "Aunt Petunia’s masterpiece of a pudding, a mountain of cream and sugar violets, was floating up near the ceiling. On top of a cupboard in the corner crouched Dobby." "The pudding fell to the floor with a heart-stopping crash. Cream splattered the windows and walls as the dish shattered. With a crack like a whip, Dobby vanished."

Love this episode. It's hilarious! A tip when putting icings on those piping bag:. Fold the end and put one of your hand underneath the fold
@silverfeigner5 жыл бұрын
You could also twist the end where the tip is and the place it in a glass and fold down the end over the outside of the glass, it will also help with filling the piping bag. If you need to stiffen the whip cream, try putting a teaspoon of cream of tartar in. It works with egg whites, it should work with whipping cream.

For those of us in America, here are the direct conversions: Sponge cake: 360 grams butter = approximately 1 & 1/2 cups 300 grams caster sugar (for us Americans, that’s powdered sugar) = 2.6 cups 360 grams flour = 2 & 1/2 cups (yes, apparently it’s different than butter) Topping: 1 liter double cream (heavy or whipped cream in US) = 4.2 cups

Cherry, loved the video! - A tip for piping stuff (because it ALWAYS goes everywhere!): Grab a drinking glass and put the bag in it, tip down. Fold the bag over the edges of the glass so it's open and supported. Spoon whatever you're piping into the now open bag and tie it off!! For frosting, you can take cling wrap and lay it flat, put the frosting in the center and wrap/spin it like a candy. Then feed one end through the tip and snip the plastic! You can pull the wrap out of the bag and it's so much easier to clean!

If you put the piping bags in a cup when you are filling it makes it a little bit easier. You can either bag the tip or just fold it so it won't push through. or even putting the cream and or frosting on some plastic wrap, wrap it up so it's like a little tube of cream or frosting then feed it through the pipping back and cut the end of the plastic wrap when ready to used. I think it came out looking really nice! The colors were pretty with the little pops of red and the flowers!!

All the icing bags I get are always packs of disposable clear plastic ones, nothing could leak through them no matter what I put in them, also fold the top of the bags down before you fill them then flip it back up afterwards so the last few inches at the end stay clean and don't have anything ooze out when you twist it closed. It helps big time to stand them up in a glass so you don't have to hold them while you fill them as well. Nice end result despite your struggles lol! Hate when I'm ready to begin a recipe then realize I still have to run to the store for something.
