So sorry Rebecca I always wanted to be a Disney cast member I understand why Disney is doing this malls are dying, but It upsets me cause you guys make the "'Magic" happen you guys do a great job I grew up going to the park and the Disney Store. and I know it's not easy keeping up with the Disney standard,, in fact there wouldn't be Disney without cast members, I guess the first cast member was Walt Disney himself Thank you for creating happiness and making dreams come true I hope you find another job soon!:)

Rebecca P. I was a Cast Member as well for a very long time and they have closed our store! It was one of the hardest things that I ever had to experience. It was like a huge part was taken away from me! I will forever miss the guests, my Fellow Disney Cast Members and the memories!!! My heart goes out to you and to all of the Cast Members that understand that pain all too well!!

I'm so sorry. I remember when I was a teenager and my local Disney Store closed I was devastated. Then as an adult I was thrilled to see they had come back. Luckily my Disney Outlet is one of the ones that made the cut. Going to the Disney Store is more than shopping for me and always has been. It a way to get immersed in Disney Magic when the closest park is over 1,000 miles away. Now I love to take my daughter and we always have a blast in there. I hope someday they reverse this decision and bring back the stores. For now I'll have to cross my fingers that they don't close my store too. Also, I'm not a big ear collector but Disney just made sure I'll never be with the now $40 ears THAT AREN'T EVEN THAT GOOD! I will be starting a new job and have much larger disposable income and guarantee small shops will get my money before Disney. The decisions they're making are crap.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!! Even though I live in PA which isn't to far away from Disney World, the last time I went was during high school and I graduated in 2016 so ya it's been a long time so I called my local Disney Store 'MY HOME' cause it was the closest thing I had to experiencing that Disney magic regularly and now I'm a lost homeless girl with a broken heart even though I've been dealing with it well on the outside.....☹😥😢😭

Canadians share all the same frustrations as you, but tack on RIDICULOUS shipping costs and the additional costs of duties for having go through customs. They're closing ALL of our stores and we won't have the alternative of Target sections that they seem to be going for now. It's been a long hard summer seeing my friends lose jobs they love. Disney is losing its mind lately!

They’ve shut all the Canadian stores too - which sucks even more bc shipping starts at $30 (even for one pin) and then when it arrives we have to pay taxes, duty and broker fees which is again at least $20. So $50 *minimum* plus the exchange rate - plus the cost of your items ... yeah no thanks Disney. 😞

The last 3 Disney stores in Canada are closing September 15 too and I’m with you shop Disney needs to fix a lot to make up for closing the stores and please a Canadian website the shipping and conversion is the worst and totally not worth it

Couldn’t agree more with your view on Disney’s decision to close most of their physical store locations. I also anticipate a drop in spending especially since I have to pay for shipping if spending less than $75, and shipping back for return or exchange. Majority of today’s Disney merch is dollar store quality, I’m not willing to take the risk.

My local Super Target (which is just 10 minutes away from an existing Disney Store on the same road), has had a “Disney store” section for about 2 years. It’s really not that great. They pretty much just expanded their toy department, and gave Disney the equivalent of 3 aisles, even if arranged differently. Pretty much the section is for their best sellers aimed at 7yos and under (basically what the Disney Store was like when the Children’s Place owned and ran it). On the plus side, things seem to be a few dollars cheaper at Target vs the store and shopdisney website, but it’s mostly small children merchandise. During the holidays, they may get a few sketchbook ornaments, but that’s basically it. There’s no Disney Magic, unless you count the TV they installed. Because there are no Disney cast members, just Target team members, it’s treated like the rest of the toy department, meaning you will not find an employee unless they’re stocking the shelves, and the place is completely untidy like the rest of toys, as they don’t get to start picking up and putting things away until an hour or two before closing.

It makes me so angry that they have closed all the stores without a better online shopping option. The shipping to Canada is ridiculously expensive and since we don’t have Target we won’t be getting the mini Disney stores.

My Disney store in CT is also closing on or before Sept 15th but my store had 25% off instead of 20%. I’m with you Emily, ShopDisney needs to get their act together so maybe I’ll be spending less money on Disney now. It was nice to be able to go into the store to see the item before buying it. Now if you don’t like it returns will be a hassle. I just won’t bother anymore.

The Disney store in my most convenient mall closed last month. I do still have a Disney outlet near me but it has the same issue of much higher prices. I guess I should just be happy it isn’t closing ( for now). Great haul ! Glad you got to go one last time.

My store closed back in March...my heart was broken..nothing like being able to walk in there and get some Disney Magic when living so far away from the Parks. Shortly after is when Burlington started getting Disney Parks items and TJMaxx/Marshalls/Home goods uped their game on Disney licensed merch. So its a hunt but I'm still able to find items at a far more reasonable price. I did just find Disney Parks pins and other Park items at my local Target...including this year's Halloween pins. You had the same luck I did on the Rewind series 1 box....I got 2 Merlins and 2 Princess Kida.

Just seeing this video. It’s actually rumored that by the beginning of 2022, so after Christmas season, the rest of those stores, the 25 nationwide that are left, will probably also be closed. Disney will go to an online shopping experience only or of course at their parks. To make it cheaper for them, they don’t have to pay employees at the stores or rent etc., they are putting “Disney Store Sections” into Target stores. I believe it will start out with 150 Targets that will have these. Basically Disney can get a another store to help sell their merchandise but we honestly don’t really know what they’re going to put in these little sections inside Target. Will it be the good stuff that we like to buy at Disney stores or just kind of the same Disney stuff that we get at Target already? Without a doubt, I believe the items inside these sections inside Target stores will have items that will cost more than what they would’ve inside the Disney store. This is something that this newer CEO and management at Disney is doing now. They keep increasing prices on everything including merchandise but we are continuously receiving less. In just my personal opinion, Disney is not very Disney anymore.

Hi Emily. My state wasn't on the original list of store closures in the beginning. But sadly I found out they did close mine too. I felt bad for the cast members. I don't get why they close their stores but then plan to launch what they are calling a Disney shop, but is really just a section in multiple Target stores. I went nuts because it would be the last time. For I agree with you thst the shop Disney won't be the same and if I waited another week....there would be nothing. My store is in Michigan and didn't see any WDW but dis see alot of Disneyland.

Yeah, I'm with you on the ears. I'm used to getting ears at my local outlet for $2-$12, so I can't bring myself to buy the $23.99 ears. I'm also used to buying pins for $2-3 at the outlet, so I can't bring myself to buy any pin at the outlet that isn't heavily discounted.

Are you going to go back to this outlet in the final week that it's open? The stores that closed in my area had everything on sale 50% off every sticker, plus jewelry $5 each. At that point, they had already moved out most of the displays.

In March I went to a closing Disney store and everything was 30% off. I went to usual Disney store which is closing. I got a good deal on merchandize. I was able to save $20. Next week, my mom will go to a Disney outlet that will be closing.

Yeah, I just checked and CA's got one outlet left in my area but it's an hour and a half away :/ I'm really disappointed with all the changes Disney's been making lately, they just needlessly put so many Cast Members out of jobs and turned away a lot of loyal shoppers by doing this. I'm from the UK and our local Disney store closed a while back and I must say that shop disney has not improved even a little bit to make up for it. Bots always snap up new releases as soon as they go on sale and none of the merch is even cute anymore. I'm all about small shops as all the website now seems to cater to are small kids (low quality plastic toys) and people who want cringe slogans on mugs and tees. I know lots of people see Disney as "for kids" but my experience of the community shows me they'd get a lot more money if they did cute, high quality, well considered merch and go back to having store locations. Ughhhhh Disney you continue to disappoint me at the moment :(

The only in Disney store local to me that I visited (which was in Columbus, Ohio) closed mid-august. However I just spoke to the one near Cincinnati, Ohio (which is an outlet) and they said that they are currently not a part of the closings as far as they know, so they are open. Unfortunately that would be a 3-hour car trip just to get there and a 3-hour car trip back. So probably not going to go there anytime soon.

Actually all the Disney stores in England apart from the Oxford St , London one are closing. I went to my nearest one two days before it was due to close but it had already gone! They had had the same manager for 30 years it’s really sad! We don’t have Targets here but Primark & Asda do a good Disney range.

IMO the CEO needs to go all of these decisions have been made under his rule and honestly he's going to make Disney hurt again like they were in the early 2000s. Honestly after everything that's gone on in this world making cast members lose their jobs for no real reason is upsetting. Most of my stores have also closed. The only ones that remains is in Time Square and one in Jersey Gardens (which I believe will close).

Do you think that there will be more clearance now on shopDisney or do you think that the few stores they leave it open will just get an influx of the clearance items from both parks? I have noticed that within the past month or so the Disney store in Tucson hasn’t been having as much clearance or the clearance it has is marked down maybe 5 to 10%. Whereas before it was about 50% clearance prices and it was really good.
