Yes, the Caste system went in the wrong direction but its relation to Manusmriti is wrongly put as most scholars have not read the original Manusmriti book but they read Britisher translated English book which has been wrongly translated. If Britishers haven't put wrong translations then it would be easier to remove wrong things in the caste system.
@jagdishtechs3 жыл бұрын
@nihar pilawan Yes, I agree with you that caste-based discrimination still exists although it has been reduced to a very low extent. But, now it's been on both sides. Nowadays many "savarns" too are getting discriminated against. So, I'm not against the reservation systems but indeed I support modifications in the basics of the reservation system as the situation has been changed for many and the old system is not efficient anymore and politicians are taking benefit of these loop holes.

@nihar pilawan Brother, you need to make one correction, that is, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Saheb was a great scholar and administrator definitely. And I have so, far by myself read 2 of his books including "Annihilation of Caste" and going to read more of his works in the future. But, as a matter of fact, Ambedkar Saheb has by himself in the preface of his book, as have self told that he didn't know Sanskrit and all his writing's are on the basis of English translated books which he considered good enough to talk about Manusmriti. And as a matter of fact, Manu smriti is written in Vedic Sanskrit which is very different from Classical Sanskrit. And brother I'm not doubting your ingenuity I'm just stating facts. #The ten AVATARS of VISHNU & EVOLUTION #The first avatar was the Matsya avatar, it means the fish. That is because life began in the water. #Then came the Kurma Avatar, which means the tortoise, because life moved from the water to the land. The amphibian. So the Tortoise denoted the evolution from sea to land. #Third was the Varaha, the wild boar, which meant the wild animals with not much intellect, you call them the Dinosaurs. #The fourth avatar was the Narasimha avatar, half man and half animal, the evolution from wild animals to intelligent beings. #Fifth the Waman avatar, the midget or dwarf, who could grow really tall. There were 2 kinds of humans, Homo Erectus and the Homo Sapiens and Homo Sapiens won that battle of being survival of the fittest. #The Sixth avatar was Parshuram, the man who wielded the axe, the man who was a cave and forest dweller. Angry, and not social. #The seventh avatar was Ram, the first thinking social being, who laid out the laws of society and the basis of all relationships. #The Eighth avatar was Balarama, a true farmer showed value of agriculture in the life #The Ninth avatar was Krishna, the statesman, the politician, the lover who played the game of society and taught how to live and thrive in the social structure. #And finally will come KALKI avatar The man who will be genetically supreme." #VISHNU is not someone sitting up in sky You are VISHNU Everyone must have seen a pic where VISHNU is resting & Laxmi is pressing his leg. That picture is showing that if you focus on karma( hard work) then Laxmi ( wealth & prosperity) will herself serve you. But if you run after Maya & Moh (Materialistic temporary reality) then Laxmi ( wealth & prosperity) won't serve you. In short👇 Paise ke peeche mat bhag kaam ke Peche baag paise apna aap milega. Hinduism is all about symbolism. All Hindu god's are just manifestation of 1 supreme being (BRAHM) ultimate truth.

This classification into four tiers of social structure can be understood in different contexts. One way of looking at it is, those who did not take responsibility for their own lives or those who did not take responsibility with the situations in which they lived in, such people were termed as Shudras; he is taking responsibility only for his survival, nothing more. The Vaishya is somebody who takes responsibility for himself, his family and his community. So trading was given to him. Today, the whole system, the whole business atmosphere is very different, but in those times the trader is somebody who stored up grains and all the necessary things that people would need. When there was a scarcity, he gave it out to the community. So in every community there were Vaishyas who took care of this aspect of life - they stored commodities and gave it out when it was needed. These are people who took responsibility for their family and to some extent the smaller community around them. Kshatriyas were people who took responsibility for the whole community or the country. They were the people who bore arms to defend their nation and community and were willing to die to protect the people. They were given administration, and the military apparatus were in their hands. The brahmins were given education. Spiritual processes and religion were in his hands because the word ‘brahmin’ itself comes from this, that it is somebody who has realized that he is the Brahman or the ‘Divine.’ So a brahmin comes from an ultimate sense of responsibility, an unlimited sense of responsibility. Only a person who has an unlimited sense of responsibility should handle education and religion because they were considered as the most vital aspects of any society. Difference vs Discrimination So accordingly, the caste system was made in India. It was a good arrangement for those days. It is just that over a period of time, you became a brahmin by birth not by worth; that is when the trouble started. That is so with every system. Whatever system we create, we must constantly work to keep it clean and make it happen well otherwise every system, no matter how beautiful the system is to start with, can become a source of exploitation. It is just that over a period of time, you became a brahmin by birth not by worth; that is when the trouble started Over a period of time, human societies have tried to make every difference into a discrimination. Differences are fine. The world is bound to be different and it is nice that it is different, but we try to make every difference into a discrimination, whether it is race, religion or gender. So when we lost our senses and started making everything discriminatory, the Indian caste system became an ugly system. What was once a very relevant way to develop skills in a society has unfortunately became discriminatory and negative, not productive. When there were no IITs or ITIs, when there were no training centers, your family was the only way to train, isn't it? So it was very important to maintain a blacksmith culture, a goldsmith culture or a cobbler culture; otherwise there would be no skills. The Indian caste system: Modes of training This whole caste system in India came when there were no formal training centers for any particular profession. Suppose your father was a blacksmith, so at the age of 6, the moment you were ready, you started playing around with the hammer and anvil. By the time you were 8, your father saw that you anyway wanted to hit it, so it was better to hit it with some purpose. By the time you were 12, you were on the job. By the time you were 18 or 20, you had some craft and expertise on your hand to make your own living. This whole caste system in India came when there were no formal training centers for any particular profession So if your father was a blacksmith, you became a blacksmith; if your father was a goldsmith, you became a goldsmith. Each profession developed its own training centers within the family structure because that was the only training center; all the craft, professionalism and skills in the society could only evolve like this. If you are a blacksmith, you do not try to go and do a goldsmith's job, you just do a blacksmith's job because we need a blacksmith in the society. When people multiplied and became a thousand blacksmiths, naturally they had their own way of eating, their own way of marriage and their own way of doing things, so they formed a caste. There is really nothing wrong with it if you look at it on one level. It was just a certain arrangement of convenience for the society. Between a blacksmith and a goldsmith, the kind of hammer they use, how they work, how they look, what and how they eat, everything was naturally distinctly different because the type of work was very different.

Manusmriti haven't locked the caste system Manusmriti was originally written for all the people to easily understand what lord Krishna has conveyed to us humans. Also here comes Britishers they manipulated the original Manusmriti and written in into English and exploited the original teachings and started divide and rule between the same religious people. Guys, just some clarification on two points. Firstly, Hinduism is not just a few thousand years old like people read up online. If we actually read the Hindu scriptures and our history, Hinduism (Sanatan Dharm) is millions of years old to the least. Secondly, the Manusmriti never actually discriminated people based on caste. As you may know, India was invaded and our people lived under a constant rule of Islamic rulers and then the British for over a 1000 years combined. Our ancestors were tortured, killed or converted. You know what they did to our sikh Gurus too. Basically they tried their best to destroy and corrupt the Indian religions and traditions. The Manusmriti was one of those scriptures that was picked up by the invaders, translated and then re-written to suit their propoganda. The original Manusmriti is still available by some sources in India, and it is a gem of a scripture with great knowledge.

The best thing about my religion that is sanatani dharma is that it has no concept of blasphemy.. You can question and in fact you have to question even the divine...there is no sanskrit word for blasphemy.. Because the concept itself didn't exist. Our religion is basically the search of the jeevatma( soul) for the paramaatma(the supreme soul) through different ways... No way is said to be superior or inferior as long as it gets you to the ultimate truth. Lord Krishna in the bhagwat gita revealed his universal form to Arjuna and gave him the divine knowledge of gita.. But at last, left it upon him to decide what he wanted to do. He never asked Arjuna ko follow him blindly... He said now that I have told you all the secrets of the universe, it is yours decision now about what you want to do.. Lord krishna asks us to use our own brains to decide rather than following what others say...krishna never says follow this path or that path.. He said all paths lead to me.. And no one who has done a good deed will ever come to a bad end.. Nor here not in the world to come... He doesn't speak about religion.. He speaks about dharma( moral duty of a person in a situation which is for the greater benefit of the society and humanity) and karma( action that come back in a loop) . It is actually scientific and makes sense in why someone is born poor or rich.. Someone is born with disability .. Or why disparity exists.. As God cannot create difference just like that.. Karma theory is very scientific on why we are born and why we suffer... It's our own karma. This makes us self dependent on our actions and intentions.

I think you mean that Dualistic path of Pure Bhakti represented by Dvaita Vedanta (Founded by Madhvacharya) and path of Bhakti & Gyan (Qualified NonDualism) called Vishishtadvaita by Ramanuja are not fully represented in this video. But per Ramkrishna Paramahamsa (one of the Greatest Bhakti devotees ) ...all paths lead to dissolution of individual identity and merging with ultimate reality ( Brahman or God)

@@ramanujadasa121 , Yes. In Hinduism there are many paths to Moksha and all are right in their own way. The Quote from Ramkrishna Paramahamsa which I was referring to is beautifully put like this : "Think of Brahman, Existence-Knowledge-Bliss Absolute, as a shoreless ocean. Through the cooling influence, as it were, of the bhakta's love, the water has frozen at places into blocks of ice. In other words, God now and then assumes various forms for His lovers and reveals Himself to them as a Person. But with the rising of the sun of Knowledge, the blocks of ice melt. Then one doesn't feel any more that God is a Person, nor does one see God's forms. What He is cannot be described. Who will describe Him? He who would do so disappears. He cannot find his 'I' any more "

@@rahuldhammi6153 Merging with Brahman is also known as Sayujya-mukti. But this type of mutki is actually valueless for devotees we actually don't want mukti because we want to serve Sriman Narayana in every birth. Sayujya-mukti is for Jnana yogis & Dhyana yogis(brahman gyanis) but still after mukti those brahman gyanis who got the bliss of brahman jyoti wants to take birth for serving Sriman Narayana. Even I was brought up in a Punjabi family but I'm Hindu. Not all Punjabi's are Sikh and The Vedas were written in Punjab and the birthplace of the religion. Many early historical events like the Mahabharata and Sita in the Ramayana giving birth to both her sons who went on to found Lahore and Kasur, happened in Punjab. Its important to remember that while Punjabi and Sikh are synonymous for you guys; Punjabi and Hindu are synonymous for us and roughly half the state still follows Hinduism and are ethnically Punjabi. The video also does a poor job of explaining certain things but its also important to remember that Hinduism distinguishes between shruti (religious) and smriti (cultural texts). Shruti would be divinely ordained and consist of just The Vedas. Smriti on the other hand are commentary and opinions of humans, not God. So where he mentioned "less divine" texts like the Mahabharata, Ramayana and Gita, he should have said smriti as these are not considered to be divine or religious texts but rather cultural, ethical,moral. Smriti texts mention varna or what became known as caste. Shruti, The Vedas, just mentions that God (Brahman) made humans of 4 qualities and all are a part of Him. Unfortunately humans attributed professions and then a hierarchy to that but they were always categorized as smriti and not shruti. Smriti is also only valid in the yuga they're written and are to never to be held above shruti so Manusmriti should have been abandoned long ago because they contradict The Vedas and that is the only religious authority.

The caste system is an anomaly, an unfortunate aspect of Hinduism today. When the caste system started in India thousands of years ago it was not based on birth, it was a social arrangement somewhat similar to Plato's caste system but later on, it became very rigid. Even Megasthenes, the great Greek historian, wrote that there were four castes among Hindus and a Hindu of any caste could become a Sophist (Brahmin). Untouchability and birth-based discrimination were unknown to the ancient Hindus during the Varnashrama days. No one was high and no one low, to quote the Rig Veda. ‘By birth all are Shudras. By actions, men become Dwija- twice-born. By reading the Vedas, one becomes Vipra and becomes Brahman by gaining the knowledge of God.’ For Adi Shankara, not birth, but knowledge became the basis for social arrangement.
