One thing that is pretty obvious is how extremely slow the ribbon moves through the air. An arrow from a bow would be almost instantaneous.
@oliabid-price45175 ай бұрын
As an archer, I can tell you that the ribbon would not even stay attached to the arrow, even if it was tied properly, and especially if the arrow was a correct fit in the barrel (meaning the fletchings would need to be folded flat). Not very convincing.

Great trick! Only part i messed up was thinking it was a motor instead of a weight to pull it (the latter performs much better and is also benefits from being much more reliable). Very fun trick Thers a clue/indicator at 1:05 when MM is "tying" the ribbon around the arrow. You can see hes forced to whip the entire arrow around as its being wrapped in order to avoid the line.

my question is how do you keep the arrow from coming out of the gun? even a super low charge blank still has some force and could push the arrow out of the barrel, even if the arrow just flops out of the barrel to the floor, it would still ruin the trick.

There's never anything in the gun that could propel the arrow. The flash and smoke come from a mechanism on the side of the barrel, visible at 2:50. That gun isn't functional. At all.

This seems like an Alec Baldwin accident waiting to happen. Lots of potential things could go wrong (real ammo vs blank, arrow accidentally propelled). I wouldn’t want to be the assistant on the other end of that.
@unnamed_channel5 ай бұрын
Not really. They're lying about just about everything concerning the shotgun, starting when he says it's "cocked and ready." If you know anything about guns you'll see that it's not cocked. The hammer is clearly visible and is clearly not "cocked". Furthermore, the shotgun shell is completely inert. At no time is there any charge of any sort inside the barrel. The small flash and smoke you see is generated from the side of the barrel, and the mechanism is clearly visible at 2:50. I would bet it would be impossible to fire that gun if you tried. No functioning trigger or trigger mechanism. No firing pin. Likely the barrel is even closed off 3" or so from the chamber opening.

You can clearly see that there is a thin line running from the target back to the assistant; the flash is a ruse. The ribbon is being pulled from the thin line. The thin line runs through the target, the girl, and to the gun... as the flash occurs, the thin line pulls the ribbon forward, toward the girl, through her clothes, through the front and out back around her waist, then to the target. Really, not a very well executed trick, just a poorly executed gimmick.
