The cube can be oriented in different ways. You see 3 of the 6 faces, but you can show any 3 faces and to the untrained eye, it can look like the cube is in different configurations. So he basically memorized a few patterns. The number of moves is too small to be a realistic solution (which would be around 40 moves). What would have been more impressive is if you had a second cube, scrambled it yourself, and told him to replicate it. Having said that, very fast cubers can solve under 10 seconds and the fastest is just around 3 seconds. This excludes an "inspection" time where the person gets up to 15 seconds to look at the cube without moving it before the timer starts. Anyway, used to watch your reaction videos back in the day!

I'm not sure I understand these magic tricks. Didn't he just memorize a few 4-move scrambles or something?

I'm digging the new format man! I really hope these catch on and put you back to the top of the algorithm. Are your guests getting clips and highlights to share on their own channels? If they post some on their KZbins or socials they might drive some viewers back to you for the full podcasts.
