The idea of the sound illusion at 2:55 is that if you focus on any one of the phrases, it will suddenly sound as though that is what the voices are chanting.

3:11 for those who dont know, the sound is actually saying "This is embarrasing". What this video here is doing is tricking your eyes, and with that you are hearing whatever you look at. But if you close your eyes, you would here "This is embarrasing", since the only one of your senses going to this video is your ears, not eyes

I have a theory on the cigarette trick. I believe is call the cylinder trick, filter is in a tube, that slides down, when he moves his head down. "using gravity" also by him placing his finger in the center, preventing the filter from moving. He also could just be doing small blowing to push the filter to the end.

For the pen going through the box I think it might be a gimmick pen where it folds up, just a thought tho.

For the Blaine ice pick trick, First off, he has a high tolerance for pain/is able to block out pain Secondly, he's mentioned on some show that this or a similar trick took years to prepare. He actually over time built scar tissue in that area that allows him to pass the pick through his hand His main tricks aren't magic tricks per se, he's actually doing what you see.

Before that montage, Shin puts what amounts to a disclaimer up that says “no camera tricks” and uses the hashtag #️⃣ Ihatecameratricks. There is a way to do that. I can’t do it, but Jeff McBride teaches the handling. And Mario Lopez is one of my favorites. That’s a gorgeous, flawless, fun routine (like everything he does). I like this idea Oscar! Oscar, the David blaine trick I can do. I allow the person to bring a sterile large needle so they know it's real and push the needle through or let them do it (usually they freak out 🤣) without any hole, blood or pain. Not for the faint hearted.

BRO, SHIM LIN doesn't do back palm. I actually watched him in Vegas do a similar trick and he shows both sides of his hand before doing the appearances of the cards, and he can do this for ten minutes, with single and multiple cards. There are a few Asian magicians that have mastered this and one that does this with GLOVES!! Imagine that. That's all I can say at this point, but I think that will help you dig a little deeper into how they do this. Its amazing. LOLOLOOLOLOL

You could fan the whole deck if all the cards had a hole through them, you only see the edge of each card. The top card could have been sleeved and then put on top.

I've been a magician for over 50 years. When Mark wilson was alive he asked magicions to agree not to use camera tricks or special effects. Magic should be with real things on or off camera. Special effect cheapen the art. To see Shim lin do that is sad.
