Wes, The two guys doing the konetic energy effect with mouse traps I did back in the 1960's with a TV Scientist named Don Hurbert. His stage / TV name was Mr. Wizard. The only difference was Mr. Wizard used about a dozen different spring loaded devices. I would start the chain reaction as the NBC TV crew would follow the subsequent action. And Mr. Wizard would explain the Science applied. What these guys did was nuts. Yes the stooge was protected by a bunch of crap, but being in the center of the hurricane is the safest place to be. The accomplise was in greater threat as once the trap fly pass, or away, from the "Head Cheese". As there is no control over the traps flight path, when it's travels from it's starting point. ~Jim

the card through window broke me. I cannot think of a method that works or how you would do that with a camera trick. Its a one take with an animal in and mirror reflections off the window. I have to imagine it was practical magic but also it doesn't seem real.

I’d do the mousetrap thing. One I wouldn’t do is what The Slo Mo guys did. They set up like, 100+ mousetraps on a trampoline and one of them jumped into the middle of it. Looked awesome in slow motion, but I would NOT be the dude that jumped in. Heeelllll no.

The money in the pockets of the other pants was stolen from silent films of the 19 teens and 1920s .. they even filmed it [or edited it] with "silent film" stop motion - Jump Speed - Slow Speed - to replicate hand-turned cameras .. probably either a copy or an homage of a scene from either Laurel and Hardy or Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin ..

Still cant figure out how the card-trough-glass was done practically. I have thought of a sliding window from the side, or bottom. That does not seem possible as the orang would look towards it and see it moving. One thing I noticed is that the camera is moving up until he places his hands on the glass, then for the rest it is static. I am suspecting camera editing. All elements could be filmed separately orangutan-magician-card-empty scene and then composited with the proper reflections. It could just be there the whole time and edited out with a frame after the orangutan removes it.
