Cool Billiard Ball Magic

It's really good to read your intelligent and objective comment about this young Magician doing a very great performance of the classic Multiplying Billiard Ball Routine. I used to perform this routine professionally in Ireland many years ago. It was the highlight of my act. I still perform it mainly for Church and other groups. I have accumulated 12 sets of Magic Billiards. One wooden set that I purchased in London as a Kid "a million years ago" Like you, I hope this Master Magician isn't lost!

Whenever somebody is really good, a bunch of critics come out. Criticism is a sign you're great or headed for greatness. An amature doesn't get 120 text comments, half from jealous wannabees who try to add a little comment--"he should do this, he should do that..." When this guy wins a FISM award, a bunch of you will feel silly. Why not sit back and say, "WOW!"? How many of you wish you had a routine like this? Huh?

This is brilliant! I love this kind of manipulation/magic, and this performer definitely adds his own unique style and flair to the billiard ball production act. My jaw dropped at 1:10. That catch was brilliant. Everything else flowed very well and was just wonderful. 2:08 was another trilling series of manipulations. Respect.

The audience loved it, and, frankly, this is the best billiard ball routine I've seen. The things you're nitpicking, such as technique, aren't visible in the least to laymen. Even knowing how it's done, it's a beautiful routine. And I'm sorry, but just because he has longer dark hair and dresses nice doesn't mean he's "imitating Houdini." How do you know that isn't his style? Besides, he's young, it takes time to find your place. And it's ironic you go on to say he should imitate someone else..

All I can say is he needs to smile more, so the audience wont be so " shy" to the awws and oooos best way to do something this awesome is to be in the middle of a mall or something and just start doing your magic, as if your trying to kill time and just thought you will do magic, anyways to your succes, CHEERS!

Absolutely fantastic routine. I normally do card and coin manipulation, and have been trying to write a billiard ball routine for a while, with no success. Your skill with a billiard ball is amazing, I liked this routine better than Raymond Crow's from the World's Greatest Magic. Well done!

I perform a ball routine that I have been doing for nearly 30 years. It is not fast or flashy. But everytime a ball appears the audience reacts with surprise. I personally believe that the faster you do something, the less likely the audience will appreciate it. You must give the audience a little time to realize what is going on. Although he is clever, his attitude seems to be cocky and arrogant. He appears to be showing off more than trying to entertain.

It’s a question of the style, i don’t think you are better of this man, and you have a better presentation. The rythme of à magician is a important part of our style. I love the style of this man. He is amazing, the public cry when he play this acte. And i think he is a better manipulateur of balls in this world. Not you.

ok, i'm not exactly sure if this is how it works, but this is what i'm guessing from my friend's magic performance. they arent four whole balls, its actually (i'm guessing) one whole one and 3 half ones. so when the ball "disappears", he's actually putting the half one behind the whole one to make it loook like its gone.

@AKDiamond157 I have watched the Multiplying Billiard Ball Routine for years. I performed it on Stage and at Parties many times. This young Magician is the best I have seen in my opinion. But as you objectively indicated, we all have our own objective preferences. You are a very talented Artist in your own field! If anyone criticized your skilled Juggling performance, I would come to your defense also. I wish you both continued success!

i think the routine is great! I just think the musi doesn't really fit the magic but theroutine itself is great! Try to work with the musi a bit and to discover the type of music that would fit this routine better

Muuuuch too fast is a correct assertion, but the kind of fast is being misunderstood. Where this routine is hurt is in the speed of the pacing. There are dozens of wonderful moments he presents here that need just a second or two more to savor. That said, the moves are 100% flawless. He just needs to learn how to draw out the magic a little more and allow the audience to keep up with every phase.

@mondoshrimpo I'm sorry, I must have given you the wrong impression about me. It seems we both have used the Magic Billiard routine. I still use it. I agree that the magic is in the handling of the "Billiard Balls"! I still perform the routine and I believe in the Magicians code of honor to keep secrets. I am actually not "small", too busy to be "bored" and definitely not "bitter" I guess I overreacted, the whole World is not going to pay attention to either of our remarks. Happy New Year!

I did not say that he isn't using solid balls :-) But even a lay audience will question this an say somehow the balls must be nested in each other. To prevent this he should show that these balls are indeed solid. I again recomment to read Roy Benson on his thoughts why you should not multiply balls in the hand that already hold balls. It was his feature act for decades so he knows what he is saying.

I give it to him for the nice manpliation but he is dragging the performance on way to long. You never want to repeat a move or any move that looks the same or is the same in a routine. Just like you dont want to repeat a trick for the same crowd maniplations are the same way.

norbert ferre is good..but in my opinion he is much more a juggler than a magician..this one is very good..but too fast in some moves..

Amazing, BUT much too fast, The audience has no real chance to realize what is going on. He also does not care enough to make people believe that these are solid balls. I don't say that he is not technically great, but thats not all for a MAGIC act.

First: We don't know if he performs for a regular audience. Second: Yes the audience reacts great, but that would be the same for a great juggler. For me manipulation like this degenerates to juggling. Ok, fine jugggling perfectly synchronized tp music.But it has nothing to do with magic. It's a pure show off of great skill. Read Roy Benson or Alan Wakeling on Billiards.

most of these balls are hollow half shells and he has hidden pockets all over the sleeves and front of his jacket,,if you will watch this again and dont look at the hand with the balls,,watch the inactive hand,,also,with any good magic,the magician is looking where he wants you to look and you wont see his sneaky other hand

fuck man thats awesome and u guys dont hav 2 reveal its quick hand movement they are 4 balls all actual golf balls with extra grooves 4 better grip available on E-bay. By the way awesome manipulation it comes with years of practise and determination ,this is real magic.
