Here's my theory about Shin Lim's mind-boggling trick. First, he used an off-screen accomplice to write Horret's answers on the 4 cards. Then, when Horret's picture-in-picture suddenly grew to obscure half the screen, the accomplice positioned the cards, edge towards camera, against the black bar in the background. With zero depth of field, the four cards were hidden in plain sight when the picture-in-picture reverted back to normal size. Shin plucked the cards from the black holder making it appear that he grabbed them from thin air. This was done so smoothly, so brilliantly that the illusion baffles not only the naked eye, but also the slo-mo camera. The greatest living magician of our era.

This is very smart ! I m a real fan, you are the best Shin. Ok That s my idea of how it s done (let s try to guess ;) Beside the amazing hand skills, the way that he hides the cards ( not in his hands obv ) seems to be based on visual angles: the black "pole" side of his shelve on the second plan is exactly aligned with the cards appearence. He could have placed a thin black background space that hold the cards, aligned with the black shelve, so he can pick them up quickly without us to notice. Last and not least, to pick the cards up, he needs to move back a little. We can see that the camera zoom changes and that he moves back comparing to his starting position. Thus, he can reach for the hidden black spot where the cards are placed. Anyway, you are amazing ! Keep the show going

Horret's trick 1: Part 1(Change in size): Of course Horret pulled the small cards from the bottom pretending it is the top. This is because when he makes the cards small, the front doesn't look like it moves. Also, if you look carefully, he makes a small gap between the small and big cards with his index finger. In 1:35, he sneakily puts the hidden small cards into the bottom. In 2:34, Horret changes it all into small cards. He actually leaves the rest of the small cards at the top and slides the big cards to his knee, and uses his index finger gap to leave the small cards. When he compares two cards, he actually grabs two small cards, drop one of it quick. He puts the left big card onto his knees and grabs the dropped small card to create. the illusion that it changed.

I think the background is a green screen. And the cards were covered with a green cloth and he removed the green cloth.

I don't Know why it is like he took that small card from the deck and kept that long card on deck at 1:59 In slow motion (0.25x) Why does there are some types of cuts in every face of face video🤔🤔? At 3:43
@trekadouble7574 жыл бұрын
I guess the cuts come from the fact that they were on Skype. Sometimes Skype freezes images just a second

most likely: - the 4 cards are already there when he pulls them, although they are not visible because they are aligned with the shelf's side (or are inside some kind of fixed thing that is aligned to the shelf's side (if that is even a shelf and not something added with green screen trick or sth)) - as for how the trick with the writings on the cards is done, most likely someone wrote all the things for shin after hearing them and placed them when shin blocks the camera's view at 9:08 with his cards + the video on the right which got bigger for a second for no (other) reason. Note that in the "direct video from skype" given in the link, the video on the right didn't get inexplicably enlarged for second for a good reason: shin lim blocks the complete view of the background for a fe seconds when he's showing his cards. as for the ink disappearing trick: no idea. are there cards that have that kind of effect? anyway no matter what tricks were used, it looked super good :)
