In my opinion the reason books are the best learning source is because you don't have a video performance to copy and can make it your own. Stay cool David!

I was thinking of taking on my first deck stack book. Would you recommend Memorandum or Temporarily Out of Order?

I'd start with Bound to Please by Simon Aronson - check out his free pdf www.simonaronson.com/Memories%20Are%20Made%20of%20This.pdf

Great review! Sucks that I finally memorized mnemonica last week. I have a question though. I absolutely HATE gambling routines. How much of the book is devoted to these kinds of routines? You made a special mention of these kinds of effects so I would hate them to make up a quarter of the book. Thanks David.

The stack is so versatile it's not limited, although I think it plays to gambling "strengths" but there are plenty of effects in the book that are not gambling effects

I've hard a difficult time with mnemonic stack. How difficult is it to memorize this one?
@magicorthodoxy7 жыл бұрын
I think it's easier than Menomica
@duncanross82477 жыл бұрын
Is it as easy as the Si Stebbins stack to remember? As a hobbies don't have a lot of time to remember stacks, also getting harder to remember things these days. Take care. Dunc

In all seriousness, even without memorization techniques, stacks are quicker to learn than even a moderate slight is to get to performance standard, but gives you so much more. When you add in the likes of mnemonics and memory palaces, it's a no brainer.

that's perfect for me then, because my Dad always told me that I didn't have a brain .... wait....

Sounds like a great book! You didn't list any negatives though David. That's not like you.
@magicorthodoxy7 жыл бұрын
it is like me if there are no negatives - hard to find negatives with a book

But as we say around here kids, there's always a negative, it just might not be your negative.

I guess it depends on your dedication and hard work, but I'd say it's probably NOT beginner
