I think the real appeal of this trick is the simplicity. With just blocks of color you can perform this for kids, seniors, and international audiences alike. Love it 👍🏽.

Been waiting for this one. Great review. I'm on the fence on it- I was really impressed with Xavior's vid when it came out, i figured what it could be but the presentation is really what I'm interested in. Hopefully the card quality has improved for the production run they're doing now. Thanks for the great reviews!

Hey David, great review. It is almost an exposure of the trick. This reminds me very much of Michael Murray's The Door which uses blank NOC style ESP cards. The theme is matching the 5 senses. As a matter of fact I think the sequence of events is identical. I love this type of matching tricks. Stay healthy

very much an ESP deck done with NOC style cards

I treated my set with fanning powder so they handle easier. Similar routines can be done with ESP cards. My wife liked the idea of coloured faces as I suppose it takes it away from the usual card tricks! Thanks for the fine review.

Thanks for the review. I was really hoping that the instructional video would show how to deal with more scenarios. In the performance videos that come with the product the performance shows some really ideal situations where other spectators are actually picking which card the magician puts down, and it always matches! I feel they didn't fully show to handle all of the different possibilities and combinations you will encounter. I just got mine last week from Big Guy's Magic in Wisconsin (via Murphy's) and the cards are like you described them.

In the trailer portion of the video (at 2:23) the text “Delicate waterproof gimmick & online instructions” is shown. I’d figured this meant the cards were waterproof/plastic... but then you say the card stock quality was meh. So what does that line mean/refer to?
@magicorthodoxy4 жыл бұрын
maybe the cards have improved over the ones I have? What does "delicate" mean?
@minkexmachina16274 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's a translation error and it was referring to a "delicate watermark"?
@photobro4 жыл бұрын
@@magicorthodoxy I think they're trying to say that the gaff is very delicate and not obvious. You even admit that you and a friend took quite some find to figure it out.

I have to ask, will i work it out for myself or does he actually teach how you can put the card down first, because this would be the reason I would buy the trick.

Pulled the trigger on this last week but it’s on back order so might be a couple of weeks before I actually have it. Kinda thought Xavior’s might be a perfect scenario but it still looked awesome - the frustration on his face 😂 Great review again David

I read below someone got plastic version of the cards? Mine was paper. And the paper cards had kinda rough quality to it.. David any idea if there was a version upgrade to the product? Maybe after they official launched it? I got mine before the official launch directly from Hank

magicorthodoxy oh man.. i wish mine were plastic too. Dang lol. I already bought 2 sets previously though 🤨
@photobro4 жыл бұрын
Just rec'd my 2nd set directly from Hank - I can say that the only thing that's changed is the quality of the printing. It's much crisper, and easier to read the gaff. Deeper color saturation on the back for sure. The stock feels the same, and they weren't stuck together. Just realized they're cut to bike size, not noc like the 1st batch. fyi.

@@magicorthodoxy You know it's hard to tell. Like you said they are far from being bicycle stock. You can't spread them like bicycle. They could be paper with a semi-gloss coating and matte finish. I just got them in the mail last week from Penguin.

magicorthodoxy absolutely. I’ve spent the last 3 days going over every scenario and how to play it successfully. It takes some work, but the reactions it gets is fantastic. Also, on the quality of the cards, as you work them in, they handle quite nicely. I like the way they’re made. You can use a damp cloth and clean the oils and stuff off them to keep them looking new

Thanks for the review David. I just picked this up. Kind of disappointed. Not with the cards so much as with the online instructions. Hank doesn't really cover the effect as presented in the trailer - specifically where the magi puts his card down first (before the spectator) and they still match. In the trailer that goes on repeatedly and that was my primary reason for purchasing it. The markings on the cards are so minuscule that you really need super vision to see them (IMO). I do not see how you could perform this in a low-light situation (again - as presented in the trailer). Nice review - I gave you a thumbs up, but would probably give the trick a thumbs down.
@magicorthodoxy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping by! Like I said in the review "the trailer is the best possible scenario" when he puts it down in advance - he waits to see what THEY put down and then ASKS if they want to change their mind, or they can change HIS card.
@MayurMagicMan4 жыл бұрын
How can this be one ahead. He places his card first and also reveals after spec deals his card.
@magicorthodoxy4 жыл бұрын
he got lucky those times - the trailer is a "perfect scenario" if the cards hadn't matched, he would ask the spectator "now maybe you'd like me to swap a card?"
