I won’t lie, they’re improving, but it seems like they only rely on those inversions to call the coaster a thrill ride. After those inversions, it’s just a family coaster with those turns and helices which I don’t think gives either positives or laterals. Not a family coaster like Firechaser Express or a Gravity Group Family coaster, family coaster as in like a Zamperla Gravity coaster or Zierer Tivoli. They’re improving, but they still have a long way to go. If you’ve been on this ride and think that the helices gives either positives or laterals, just let me know.

Waaaa because it's not american it's not as good waaa. Shut your face
@owyman7 жыл бұрын
Rick Jasper I bet there's far less evidence of offhand criticism in your comments about american coasters. It's always the same story: if some country outside america is getting attention for something america doesn't have, americans chime in with the usual self important, sell superior negative comments. It never fails. Indeed it's how I knew you were american: the very recognizable trademark arrogance.
@MarcusGainesCoasterTouring7 жыл бұрын
Just to be clear, I'm European, and one of my Top 10 coasters is in China, only two are in the US. As Rick says the location and country of origin of the manufacturer is irrelevant. The ride does indeed take a long time to get started compared to the Vekoma built Gravity Max, I've just compared the POVs. On the bright side it's a picturesque park and the time it takes to get the ride going allows chance to admire the views of the theming around the park. Please don't start insulting one another over a coaster.

ahhh they dont even have em dueling! *edit* upon watching the video till the end I realize there's almost nobody in line and that's probably why they aren't dueling lol. Why even run both sides then?
@MarcusGainesCoasterTouring7 жыл бұрын
Mario Brajevich they usually do duel, but due to our filming we had one side to ourselves and they just ran our side when we had the cameras running. The queue line is actually outside of the ride area, Chinese rules mean people can't queue under the ride structure even with catch nets and high fences. So it looks like no one is waiting but actually there were plenty of people in line. It takes around 15 minutes to dispatch a train of passengers, so unfortunately we couldn't delay filming otherwise we'd only got 4 shots in the 1 hour we had the track to ourselves. I did get some off ride duelling shots though. So ordinarily they do duel and the park was one of the busiest I've seen in China.
@defonotmario7 жыл бұрын

Coaster Touring 2 trains every 15 minutes? That's horrible efficiency. Shouldn't it be closer to two trains every 5 minutes? Sending a new train as soon as the previous on completes it's loop and arrives at the station?
@MarcusGainesCoasterTouring7 жыл бұрын
Robert Szasz they could indeed dispatch trains far quicker, in a western park they certainly could get closer to 5 minute dispatches. A big part of the delay is down to the very strict Chinese safety rules. One such rule prohibits guests from queuing within the ride footprint. This means quests wait well away from the station out by the ride entrance. Once the trains have stopped and guests have disembarked, then the next lot of guests are allowed to walk to the station. They still have cattle grid style queue line within the ride footprint, so it takes several minutes just for guests to arrive at the station. Then the usual faff of stowing loose articles and bags happens. Then it takes a while to put on the racing harness, which has to be inspected, then the overhead can be pulled down and inspected. The ride operators aren't the most efficient either, although not much worse than Magic Mountain. All of this is fairly typical for parks throughout China, so not unique to this ride. I think in 5 years time when big parks have more experience we may see improvements. It's not that the way they operate is wrong, it's just different to what westerners expect.
@RobertSzasz7 жыл бұрын
Coaster Touring thanks for the response. Having the queue outside the ride footprint is a major constraint. Perhaps as safety is shown, one or two trains worth of guests could queue up at the station, still limiting the number of people who could be hurt in a major accident, but not impacting efficiency as much. As China continues to implement global standards for design, construction, and operation hopefully such strict regulations will be shown to be unnecessary.

For sure, and the track style is also different so it's not a direct rip-off. Too bad the drops aren't vertical.

disownedpear they really don’t care if it’s a complete knock off, there’s very few copyright laws in China.

Gimic that takes to long and adds questions length

Tony Parkin definitely a gimmick, but it does add to the thrill factor of the ride. The way Vekoma implement it, it works much quicker than on this one from Golden Horse.

Joshua Sullivan it is a bit scary when you get to the end of the track and it starts to tip.

Some cities in China are more polluted than others, horrendously so. Many I've been to in China weren't as bad my home city in Europe though.

Please be advised that nobody over 80 kg. can ride this coaster. These policies are becoming more common in China. I know. I live here. It seems Chinese enthusiasts are trying to get people to come here to LOOK AT COASTERS and become very angry at anyone who speaks up and tells the truth about what goes on here. I am simply trying to save foreigners the trouble of traveling halfway around the world to get turned away from coasters. Know before you go.

Darren Mullins I completely forgot about the weight restrictions, they didn't enforce it on me as they wanted me to shoot a couple of videos. I seem to recall seeing it was 85Kg. Can you confirm if it's 80 or 85 and I'll add it to the main description. Thanks for the reminder. I can confirm that despite being over the weight limit both I and the coaster survived. 😃

The last I heard it was 80kg. I do not hate Chinese enthusiasts or Chinese parks. Many of them seem really nice, but since I know what is going on here with the restrictions, I need to let others know before they make a long journey halfway around the world. The parks here have potential, but these types of rules are becoming more common and I only hope that those who are considering coming here will not get their hopes up about riding. I am happy to support the parks here if they do not have these restrictions.

Darren Mullins I think my "favourite" rule is the no one over the age of 55 on the GCII at Knight Valley. I've always found Chinese enthusiasts friendly and helpful. We often use enthusiasts from the Rollercoaster Dream coaster club as extras when filming. There were a dozen of them with us at Hefei and 50 at Ningbo on this years China film trip.

They have similar rules in Korea. I think I saw nobody over 55 there as well.

Don't think there's been an accident and regulations in China are now pretty strict. So I think it may look dangerous but is actually safe, so scarier than it really is.
