You’d think people don’t care anymore, but against all odds, Phil’s fans are easy lovers of his legacy. Not just two hearts; but many. His music can be heard, even in the air tonight, if you listen close enough. It screams “take me home”, but with true music art, it can take time to appreciate it’s true colors, even if it takes one more night to realize that you can’t hurry love...(even if it’s the really groovy kind). So don’t wish that it would rain down on people who don’t like him. We need to hear both sides of the story as to why they’re musically leading separate lives from us, so that maybe one day...just maybe, we can live another day in paradise, on the way to heaven as we finally dance into the light.

If Phil lacked confidence, it never showed on stage. He seems supremely confident when performing. He was in total control of the band and the music. Rock solid. The perfectionist may never feel good enough, but we can all see result. Perfection.

Im a musician myself and listen to quite some artsy/weird/alternative music but the pop music that phil made is just amazing. Fuck the haters. This is a great man. I noticed the same. I followed his tour in 2017 on YT and saw him live with Genesis last march. He has really deteriorated in 5 years. Slower, skinnier. That's what constant pain, immobility and (understandable) lack of exercise does to you. The live shows were his exercise.

To those commenting about slurred speech or "he's drunk" maybe you could watch more than one recent video. That would require effort, and I understand you're too busy diagnosing to do some research before criticizing. This was days after a bad fall that left wounds on his face, so they obviously have make-up on him. And he is no doubt on a painkiller. Watch other videos and you will find he is not slurring one bit. He is suffering from nerve damage, back and ear issues, and is not the same man he was years ago, but he is not deserving of the typical comment section BS.

Stefan Turton - Yes. It's his affect. Slow, slurred speech. Rolling eyes, laughing at own cracks, can't maintain eye contact, finish sentences and sit still. Can't judge the man because of prescibed meds. He clearly needs them. Just makes for a boring, self indulgent interview. This session was supposed to provide insight. It did, just not in a flattering way for Phil. He clearly isn't following prescibed med advice. I bet he was nervous & topped up before coming on. Poor fella.

Mick Van Watcher - Sure, though they're just comments Mick. As he says & as it comes across he's not terribly confident & gets quite insecure. His ex-wife must have thrashed his self esteem. BUT as he's flogging a book & with a willing audience you'd hope he has someone in his corner quietly saying: 'Phil, you're fine as is, no booze or extra pills needed for this gig. Then his solo work was hit after hit. I just saw TOTP 1988 and he was No. 1, just him singing, pure magic, when everyone else was so manufactured. The common thread is Phil, he's multi talented, lovable and his songs have enriched me.

Ive been a fan of Phil Collins since I was 10 years old in 1982. He is a great singer, songwriter and drummer, a wonderful legendary artist. It's amazing how Phil started out as a drummer for Genesis and then stepped in front to become the lead singer and then a solo artist. Phil Collins is truly amazing and wonderful.

I first became a 'fan' when I was 12, having been dragged to a Genesis gig that summer. I've loved him ever since, even though it made me unpopular at times with school friends - who just wanted to listen to Blur vs Oasis. I was never able to get tickets for his solo tours, and I'm so happy to have seen him again, 29yrs later. He looks so fragile now, but he's still there inside. That book of his is incredible, and it will be a VERY sad day when he does eventually 'shuffle off'. He'll always be a hero to me.

So relieved (as the whole world of his fans would be...) that the beautiful soul, Phil Collins, is "Still Not Dead". Completed full reading of the auto-biography...so extremely honest in every way, extremely interesting and really is one of the very best reads available in that particular genre. Best Wishes and Good Luck to Phil and Thanks a Million for all your wonderful musical work. We love it all! A huge legacy now and always as part of thousands of happy human lives.

If you can find it, the Phil Collins 1988 segment of "This Is Your Life" is fantastic. His whole family is there (well, not his dad exactly). Robert Plant is hilarious. As they bring out more people, and more stories, it veers from charming to comic and Mr. Collins from agony to delight. When he hugs his son towards the end of the show, it is joyous. Well worth your effort to find it!
