I got a chance to meet Doug Henning about 6 months before he passed and we took a great photo together

I was a big fan of Doug as a kid, even though he was a goofball, I could tell he was an honest goofball who loved his work. It was a shock when he died so young.

He was one of the first magicians to eschew the top hat and tails look & portray an Everyman with a sense of wonder…not an austere Svengali Yes, it is VERY much of its times and Doug’s questionable fashion sense and faux-naïveté got old-fashioned fast 😢
