Damn this hits me so hard, lost my dad last year of March 2023, learning Hmong Cultural, traditions and religions has been hard, im glad my mom still with us, made a promise to myself to keep this going for my pops, gonna make both my parents proud cause im doing my best even though im alot older and late into it. Heard this song driving to work and it hit me hard. Sadly this is true, some family are there as long as your father is still there but when he's gone most will not care or look at you the same. Lost my dad when I was 16 and being the oldest made me understand how my father's family was. There were those that will be there for you but seeing the truth when the "man" of the house is gone hurt most when you grew up thinking the "family" around you who you thought will always have your back turn into strangers.

This hits home… my nephew lost his father (my brother Yia “The Bull” Mua) 13yrs ago both my nephews were 4yrs old and 15yrs old. Story of my life my dad passed away over 10 years ago and till this day I haven't done my wedding yet because of no help from the relatives. Lost my dad this year March 2023, probably the hardest me and my family ever had to endure, one of the sole person whom kept us together. Saw my mom at her most vulnerable but she kept it together and we got the funeral done. Rip dad hope you are proud of us and continue to watch over us. I lost my father when I was really young and could relate to everything. My mother also abandoned us so being an orphan is not easy at all. My brother and I both experienced how hard it was to do a wedding, first hand. I’ve been told that my wedding would happen but I’ve been with my husband for 6 years now and still no wedding. I have given up all my hopes. Thank you for the beautiful song.

Towards my dad's dying year's I just started to open up and love him as a father. I'm 1 thousand miles away from him. Next thing I know, from a text message just to find out that he passed away randomly out of the blue's. I didn't even get to see and speak to him.... This really wrecked me as person. Now I live in regrets to wish and wonder what I could have change to make the relationship between us better. But its too late and im paying the price still to this very day. Forever mourning my dad's death. Love you pops.
