Understandably, it looks like melee characters are at a disadvantage in a hero "shooter"...but it looks like magik can hold her own at any range. Thats good design...and that Auto>uppercut>air auto>air auto combo is nasty

It feels so good. You can left click, then cancel into her right click(that ranged move you can kinda "charge") then swing again. I need to practice more with it, but feels really nice when you pull it off lol

Not necessarily, really depends on the balance. Plenty of PvP games have ranged/melee options, doesn't mean ranged are automatically at a disadvantage

You will love playing her in this, she feels awesome! If XCOM style turn-based tactics games are something that interests you, I highly recommend that Marvel Midnight's Suns game that came out a year or so ago if you can get it on sale. She was awesome in that too!

The should give her 2-3 charges of the charge slash move so she’s usable at a distance if your alone or need to make space

Yeah, hitting enemies gives her a temporary shield so it would be nice if you're good with the range move to land a few to get a little shield buffer before you rush in!
