I’m a retired neurosurgeon and have read so much in my life, and now at my 7 th decade, I now have to cram these intense truths into my head to properly translate these realities to all the beautiful confused souls I encounter daily in the world. Why me? If I live to be twice my age can I even accomplish this assignment? It’s daunting and not sure I can measure up to the task. I literally understood everything discussed here, but most people’s minds will tune out this deep and important dive. Learning is never ending. Prayer is unceasing. It's already written just refer people onto the church fathers, and there are already several other good books exposing and explaining it all. "Agaisnt Heresy" is the only book you ever need to easily know the previous Pope's Encyclicals warning the faithful on all manner of erroneous issues such as communism, modernism, secret societies, changes on liturgy and so much more.

Agree, as infuriating as it is, this is something I learned on my way to Traditional Latin Mass 2 years ago after my conversion 4.5 years ago. There is another homily on Sensus Fidelium where a priest spoke about We get a pope we deserve and its true but its also a blessing because the more maliciousness is revealed, the more it awakens lukewarm Catholics who've been idle to take a side like the angels took side in Heaven, with God or against God and the trick obstacle is the middle man. It makes them more in tune with whats going on. As a former Protestant into TLM, these pressing issues made me lean more traditional. I thank God for these trials and tribulations for helping me see, at a time in the church when many leave, I want to come in into the eye of the storm and help carry the weight with those who stay with the burden

Probably is, that is while I totally agree, as a Convert, How am I to become Holy when I'm fed progressive, modernist and protestant b.s. at every turn. Came into the Church in the NO and quickly had issues concerning my conscience because of my continued Catechesis vs how I saw the faith being practiced, at least in the NO parishes I attended. Church history and Catechesis led me to the TLM and I have never looked back. There is just as much confusion and division in the TLM community as in the NO. Can't we just be Orthodox Catholics? We really do get what we get what we deserve, smh

Sadly true. The problem really is that only a few can see the truth of it and so the majority of the church will continue to accept the modernistic errors and the great apostasy will ensue. Its predicted and Biblical too. What's most important is to seek out and know true Tradtional church teachings and thr Mass of the ages and expose the heresy u folding and remain charitable towards other faithful also struggling to comprehend it all.

I am returning to catholism but there has been a problem in the church for a very long time. I am in my mid 50s now but I went to a catholic school for 5 and 6th grade. The priest litterally taught us that God didnt require belief in Him we just needed to be a good person. He taught that to the entire 6th grade class in religion. I cant speak for my past classmates but that left me confused and has led me down paths that were total lies. And I have paid a heavy price for it. But the point remains there has been a problem in the church for decades

It is possible that your priest was talking about ‘invincible ignorance’ in which someone who had never even heard of Christ would be brought into The Church, by accepting Christ and being baptized by an extra-ordinary means. We don’t know the exacts here, but it could very well be that Christ would appear to them. Christ is more than capable of baptizing. Perhaps this is what he was trying to teach (it is a hard concept for kids), or perhaps he taught error; I wasn’t there. I’ll assume you just misunderstood him.

Father Ripperger gives the laity advice to mostly ignore the daily actions of the Pope, but it's difficult when it comes to evangelization, especially with fallen-away Catholics. The Pope's actions (and inaction) give them an excuse not to reconsider the faith. That's been my experience.

I can't help but think that it wasn't so much that; when I was a teen, I recall the religious studies teachers being so grateful that Paul VI came along to get out of his ivory tower and topple the "prisoner of the vatican," once and for all. Then JPII had to outdo him with his number of trips, then BXVI proferred his own declining ability to travel so much anymore as a reason for his abdication. Pope Francis is only a 21st century PVI. If PVI had FB and Twitter, he'd have done the same thing.

Evil in the church is a clear and present danger. As for my tithe , I willl pass out Benjamin's to the people living under the bridge. I will no longer finance the church general fund. I will also seek out traditional catholic parishes and fund them directly. Sadly, this is the only way to drive the point home. My pride is my suffering, my fortress is my faithful heart.

What I was hoping to get in this video were references to specific council statements or previous popes’ statements about the limits of papal authority and when the layman can safely refuse assent or dissent. My son follows a certain KZbin convert popesplainer and seems ready to follow this pope off a cliff if he says so 😳

You might try listening to what Dr. Peter Kwasniewski has to say about ultramontanism, and the limits of papal authority and obedience. As to the “popesplainer”, do you mean Loftin? He’s suffering from a bad case of diabolic disorientation. It’s why he gets so angry when challenged to any degree. There’s a lot of that going around. Michael is a smart, educated guy who on some level knows he’s defending the indefensible (hence the anger). I suspect that the best approach is simply to pray for him (and your son). God always has a plan in the things He allows to happen, but we’re clearly going to have to trust Him and be patient a bit longer to see it through.

Remove the money , that is what laity can do. It is not just a matter of donations. We must vote to remove all public funding from the church. If you wish to support your local priest you can buy him items or pay his bills directly. When they start selling off Church property you can build private chapels and allow Mass there, without donating the property directly to the Church. There are things we can do!!! Be willing to make the sacrifice!!!

@@barbarawhitt8753 I did listen, I have no intention of leaving the church. I am however under no obligation to give money to bad preist. And I am certainly not obligated to vote in a way that send tax payers money to them. They just took my Bishop from me out of ego driven petty spite. This will delay my children's confirmation and my son's wedding. Father Kelly speaks for about 3 percent of the Catholics here. This call was nonsense! And has directly harmed most faithful Catholics here like me.

I can feed the poor by dropping off groceries at their house ECT....giving money to a group of people who activity harm my children , my friends, and my community, shows approval for the action they take with that money. I will not support the mob. I as a Texas Catholic have been bullied by preist who's opinions are in the minority here in an attempt to intimadate me into changing my vote and stop me from being politically active on local issues. A small number of liberal preist here have withheld things like baptism or Masses for the dead from people who outside of church had a different political opinion from them. Bishop Strickland stopped them from bullying the layity and for that they got him fired. Not one more penny from me. Not that I was ever able to afford much to begin with, as I am among the poor that the Vatican is trampling.

​@@christinelivebirdyou can use either name. Thats why in Holy Father Benedict XVI time some called him Pope Ratzinger but that was mostly in the begging of the pontificate. It isnt something to be kept for long. And yes its not the most reverent way to address a pope. I prefer to not even mention the current pope much as his actions are highly aggravating. I prefer to pray for his salvation and to pray for the Church.
