Maglev Train from Shanghai to Pudong Airport, China

Catching the Maglev Train from Shanghai to Pudong International Airport, China - 21st October 2023. The line is 30.5 km (18.95 mi) track. The top speed reached 431 km/h (268 mph) and took just over 6 minutes to return.
Please note: I made a mistake while editing the video, I stated the the speed reached to 401 km/h. on the way to the Airport, however, it was as you can see in the video, the top speed was actually 431 km/h.

Fantastic! Thanks for the video. German technology (Transrapid) at work in China. So glad it was actually built and running. It looks like it could also be advertised as a entertainment destination experience. So cool!

It was amazing to see how busy this Maglev station was. From my observation, it seems it is in regular service for people wanting to get to and from Shanghai to the Airport quickly. Of course, we took it as a entertainment destination experience as part of our tour.

@@santhoshlkumar6743 Yes, the Transrapid system was developed in Germany, by ThyssenKrupp and Siemens.

@@santhoshlkumar6743 There was a 32 km long test track in Germany since 1987. They achieved a speed of 406 km/h on the second day of test operation (1987). With an earlier version (TR 06) of course, this version of Transrapid Shanghai is TR 08.

Yes, the return journey from the Airport took approx. 7 minutes. However, because we reached top speed on our way to the Airport 431km/h, it took under 7 minutes. Our Guide confirmed that this was a test run on the way to the Airport, so we were lucky we got to travel at this speed 431km/h.
