I love Li-ion modded MAGLITES. It makes it so much lighter. D cells are good though if you want that extra heft to wallop an attacker.

Bro, no need to complicate things. A 3/4 inch pvc pipe would be easier, cheaper and faster and lighter. Also, instead of one battery you could have used 2 lithium ion battery with the said PVC Sleeve and maybe shorten the spring a little. All the wood, drill bits, drilling and aluminum rods are a waste of time and energy and money. Also, they sell D Cell Spacers on Amazon.

True, but the whole point of this project is harvesting old laptop batteries laying around unused.

Pregunta...las 2 pilas suman 3 Volt y esa batería es de 3,7 volt..no perjudica el led ?

No, el led tiene un regulador incorporado

Hola David perdón me entrometa..pero ahí dice q ya trae el regulador incorporado..osea de fabrica ..de todos modos no confío en esa info y es una linterna muy cara para dañarla..yo la llevaría a un electrónico que me confirme si tiene el regulador o no o q me aconsejé en poner una resistencia..las baterías son de 3,7 y llegan a 4,2 bien cargadas..es mucho..de andar seguramente anda el tema es cuánta vida le quitas al led..

Yo adquirí una MAG Lite de 3 pilas medianas tipo C que sumando las pilas son 4,5 volt...le adapte la batería y me dura 5 horas caminando en el monte
