It's amazing how far DJ bags have come since we designed and made the first one in 1990. Made for us by a company in Bolton (who made newspaper delivery bags) we let other labels use the design (to give more work to the disabled charity workforce). We had side pockets (for headphones and cables). Velcroed on the entire front flap so you could tip them upside down and your vinyl didn't come out. Reinforced at the sides and bottom with removable inserts. Ours are still going strong :)

I used the magma riot backpack for at least 7 years until my laptop zipper finally broke. I was looking everywhere to find a replacement but it had been discontinued. I was so sad to have to replace it since it was the perfect bag. Magma had a similar bag, the bitflash, which was not waterproof but had the same outer body but different inner layout. I had a gig recently where it ended up raining and water definitely got through to the inside of my bag. I may have to look into the magma solid blaze 120! That looks most similar in size to the riot bag.

Since Oct 2018 I've been rocking a RHODES BACKPACK from Tucker and Bloom it's awesome!! Been to the US 3 times, EU at least 12, 4 festivals (as a punter) 3 working and to work with me most weekends (give and take the pandemic) There is not a blemish on it! I love it :)

I looked for a new bag (travel, gig, well... basically for everything) for years and I failed many times. So a few months ago I ended up drawing on my iPad and sketched my dream bag and I was also surprised how easy wes to find a local manufacturer who took the job and made it real for around €80. I can't complain, it's perfect to carry my stuff and I also used for one bag travel.

I love my 120. I was worried about paying a premium price for a bag after my JetPack started falling a part after a few months, but the 120 after a couple of years looks practically new. I love how they can expand to the size you need for the gig. The new one does look tempting!

I will say that the magma dj bags can go through a lot you can bang em up and will still look good can’t say the same for jet packs you have to be gentle with those!

I just picked up the smaller pack, threw my Push3 inside, and traveled three continents with it. It’s SOLID. I think mine is the 120.

I got the Pioneer DJ branded one of the 120 (were €20 cheaper) about 1,5 years ago and love them. Use it daily for work as well.

Mojaxx you're an absolute staple in the DJ community, love your reviews. For me it's a laptop pouch and my Jansport backpack. There's a pocket on the pouch for cables, hard drives and other bits and bobs. The bag also fit's my headphones with are also in a pouch of it's own. I love the solid blaze 80 but not the price. I'll stick with my Jansport.

for a plug and play gig I take a road case with the controller inside, two stackable tool chests and an overnight bag with smart clothing water etc in. I couldn't imagine cutting down the amount of gear into just a ruck sack to a gig thats miles away paying decent money only for me to have a cable break or laptop failure and not have a spare.

My 120 after 4 years is like new. Very functional. Don’t have any issues traveling and it holds everything I need to be prepared for any situation.

Lucky enough to have both the Blaze 80 and 120. Both are absolutely bomb proof, so far ahead of anything I’ve had previously. The Blaze series are probably the best DJ and also EDC Tech backpacks out there bar none.

I had an older model of the 120, realistically when you pack a bag that big it should have wheels. It got super heavy & would kill my back…. I sold it for a rollaway bag & it’s been the best. I just wish they had more wheeled dj bag options

Lovely review as usual Mojaxx. Thank you. However, the prices are completely crazy. Don´t understand why DJs needs really an specific backpack in comparison to millions from other brands which are also cheaper. Sad that the DJ market is able to pay those prices. Is our fault that prices in the DJ world are insane high.

Thanks for putting this together for us, Mojaxx! Do you know if there's a backpack that can hold a club (Denon X-1800) or a battle (DJM-S7) mixer and a media player like a CDJ-2000 or a Denon SC5K? It would be nice to carry two devices on my back and one in a case so that I can have a hand free to open doors and hit the elevator buttons.

go to an army surplas shop (most cities have them) and buy a decent 2nd hand army bag for 20 quid. it will have more space, last longer, and be more waterproof

Great video!!! Do you think the 120 could comfortably hold a QSC Touchmix 8 + power brick, a WMX1 lighting controller, my laptop and headphones? Or should go for the 180 for maximum protection especially for my QSC

Hey mate, any chance you can check if the Prime Go will fit properly inside this one? I bought the UDG Digi BackPack which was supposed to fit, but even though I can get the Go inside, I can't close the zipper properly. Might jump on this one instead, if it's a proper fit :)

I have the 180. All in all a really good companion, BUT the compartment for the headphones if you really have it full with everything you need, mixer, cable, needle box, laptop stand, etc. is definitely too small
