I kept thinking that too, he's got an abundance of strength from his toes to his finger tips, even when his left hand is down by his waist he can produce the needed force easily. In a couple of the goes when he's making the initial right hand move you can see his left leg acting like a tail to keep his upper body moving the way he wants. I think that's what separates the pros from the other guys who have the capability to send v14+. Magnus discusses it a lot but when they're in top shape they can just give 100% all day. Unfortunately it seems like being in that kind of shape so consistently takes basically 24/7 dedication and outside coaching, nutritionists, pt, etc. Other super strong ass "casual" climbers I talk to who have sent those top end grades understandably take months to project something simply because of the time needed to be in that kind of shape. And that's saying something cause they're the bishop bros who work and live out of their vans so they already have so much more time than someone with a 9-5. If you can't devote essentially your whole life to that im not sure if its possible to push at that level consistently

As a non-climber watcher of ur videos Magnus, I found this video surprisingly approachable! I think it comes from the introduction of who he was, then taking time to chat about his sister and his family as yall walked to the boulder, and then the discussions between the both of you as you tried to figure out the problem. Additionally, it was nice to have context added about the challenge of the boulder and who is able to climb at the level now. It reminded me of an exploratory report or unique experience that news channels sometimes do. But instead it was really cool having it from the context of an older climber welcoming and climbing with someone from the new generation of climbing. It made it super interesting. Great Job!!

Shawn is such a chill dude, it was so cool seeing you two climb together. Would love to see more videos of you trying hard boulders outside!

This was quality content. So great to see Shawn be so content with every try. He seems genuinely very happy to have this as a profession. Keep it up Magnus, would love to see you climb this. Seeing how well you progressed on this boulder I do believe you can do this

I'm so stoked to see Shawn on your channel! And I agree with him on that you should boulder more!

Awesome video Mangus! It brought back fond memories of hard bouldering sessions at the Campbell Cliff in Tucson when I first started climbing 42 years ago. I’m not pulling down as hard as I used to but it’s fun to live vicariously through your adventures. Keep up the good work!

I dropped everything when I saw the notification ! You and Shawn in a outdoor bouldering video ? *chef's kiss* Love all the camera angles and everything. Plus Shawn seems like such a great dude and wholesome dude !

This one was just pure climbing beauty. Loved every second. And I think you didn't get humiliated at all! Just a little intimidated if anything. Seemed like you had your fanboy moment right there. Shawns strength and even more his endurance are so sick to watch!

Love this video! I thought it was so cool hearing that the Raboutou family still has a traverse that Magnus set at their home wall. I bet that made Magnus’ day to hear that. Also, seeing more content with/about Shawn has been cool. He seems like a cool, humble guy. Hearing that he had smaller hands for a climber also validated years of climbing with my baby hands. Lol

Back to his roots! Man, more of this and less of the other. Magnus still gots it. He just has to want it. More Mellow stuff, man! You ended up wandering in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights on some crazy run to end up with Shawn Raboutou. Love it.

This video was awesome! Just raw Magnus and climbing some rock. Would love to see more content like this one! Takes me back to your vlog days when you were just starting.

Dude i absolutely love this kind of video! I've been watching Shawn a ton recently and it's sick seeing you climb with him. I feel like for how little you're bouldering outside, you're so strong! And climbing with people as good as better is so rare in your videos that is an actual treat to watch.

The level of skill in this video is unreal, few people will even understand just how difficult what you guys are attempting here is. Also, i feel like i'm hear TBOI music in the background, might just be generic piano lol, but regardless Switzerland is beautiful, very jealous of your guys' job.

The most simple video on the Channel, but probably one of the best. Not because of the send but because of the whole process of finding beta and insights on this type of climbs.

Coming back with the entire mellow crew would make for a sick vid. I remember reading in your book about how Dave Graham was an idol of yours. Also, it's insane how strong you are on an 8B (!) boulder with probably very little outdoor climbing (and bouldering) in the last years. Great video. Would love more :)

I absolutely love how calm, focused and even keel Shaun was during that project! I don't know how many hours everyone was at that boulder and how many attempts everyone did but him finishing his climb and going "wooooo. . . last climb, best climb 🤷♂️" was so refreshing and honestly, insightful. Just keep at it and continually problem solve and progress millimeters at a time

Hey, Magnus. KZbin suggested to me your video and a week later I found a boulder gym in my city. Today is one month since I've started. Thank you for inspiring me!

More of this please. I know these videos don't get as many views, but outdoor bouldering is the chillest.

I love this video! I keep coming back to watch it again and again. Both Magnus and Shawn are so wholesome and chill that they remind me that climbing is all about having fun with friends. Especially what Shawn said about being motivated helps his climbing resonates a lot with me.

Love these kind of vids Magnus! Especially for myself being a new climber, seeing the thought process on a boulder day project like this is very interesting🧗♀️
