I love how humble these people are - being one of the strongest climbers of the world. That shows, that you can stay on the ground while writing history. Many people lose this.

I just watched a video of a guy who got stuck in a cave upside down and the rescue team tried rescuing him for hours. They weren't able to get his body out :( it was right before Thanksgiving. He ended up dieing in thecave they closed that entrance off wth cement and his body is forver in the cave now :( ill stick to rock climbing its less dangerous

Didn't you have extra batteries? Great, nice that you thought of the rescue team that would have to follow you there....

The nail thing hurts my soul. I literally stripped a nail off climbing and they weren't even that long. Never ever ever again. Before I climb I clip my nails to the absolute smallest they will go.

That was so much fun! Thank you for that. I know well what it's like to feel the increasing age and to realize that you don't have enough strength to do what your head wants. It started when I was in my mid-thirties. I turned 49 in December. Magnus, keep going. With the new Maglock you can hold every grip 😉 even in my age 😂

What you mean in a "normal gym" route nr. should be the same also in "your normal gym". Dude many things are changed. now you gets older and have to rspect the new things, that is what climbing is about. 🙂 The young people today are so good and thats why harder courses get lower ndifficult rates. Otherwise the young are climb in 10 or 11. And that doesn´t fits what the IFSC wanna.

In Argentine Patagonia, from what I understand, there is one of the largest stones in the world, where multi-pitch climbing is done and they are approximately grade 8a, this place is called "Piedra Parada", in the region of "Esquel", approximately 400km away. from bariloche argentina

The running very much reminds me of the test we had to do to get into the mountain rescue squad, which in Germany, is a completely voluntary unit of the Red Cross. So, everyone there is there in their free time and does all the training and rescues in their free time. The entry test is to run 300 m in gained elevation, which usually ends up being about 3 km horizontal distance in about 40 minutes. Definetely doable, but the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. You really can't fall below 5-6 km/h which in the forest is not easily done; it's jogging or power walking without a break. With 12 kg of gear. Which, funny enough, is kind of not a good test, because our lightest backpack when on a rescue is more like 15-20 kg, with most of them weighing more than half of me. I got burning legs from carrying one downstairs once. Upstairs I would have been dead. But that's what we have adrenaline and dextrose for. And it's fun to help people, of course.

I've been around KZbin since its creation, I've seen tons of content, I've always thought the highest of every KZbin creator and his content, but seriously this is just outstanding to notice how ahead Magnus is, he displays some raw and incredible content. I believe that comes from the experience he has plus maturity, dedication, work and craftiness. It's like watching a National Geographic type of thing but with the producer being the main character, a Superhero and just a wild performance passing one of the hardest military tests and succeeding at it. Better than National Geographic, and simply entertaining. Hats off to you Sir, all my respect !

i dont climb obviously so forgive me if this is a dumb question but on the part where magnus was really starting to struggle with one foot it seemed like there were a lot of footholds that with his grip could be used as hand holds to help temporarily is there any reason climbers never grab foot holds other than the fact that they are foot holds
