In this brief introduction video, I will show you an inverter charger that you should have on your radar: The MagnaSine MS-PAE series from Magnum Dimensions. Magnum, which is owned and operated by Sensata Technologies, has been quietly making inverters in the USA for many years. But they don't get as much love as they should. So I want to bring to your attention some unique abilities of this series and then, in an upcoming video, go into more depth as I install one in my solar shed. #sensata #magnumenergy #magnasine

I have been using my MS4024PAE since 2009 and it still is working perfectly. The buttons on the controller are getting a bit sticky now but just require a few extra pushes the change menus. Most Excellent Product!

I've been running two Magnums, MS2812 and MS4024 for 24/7 since 2012 in Arizona desert that experiences a couple of months a year where the inverters, in an outdoor shed, are exposed to over 120 deg F all day (and not less than 90 at night). Absolutely trouble free, rugged, and reliable. Upcoming upgrades to increase my power and add solar power to my well will make me buy two more Magnum inverters. I can't say enough about how tough and reliable these inverters are. I can answer a lot of questions and provide advice on solar power also.

I've known about Magnum Dimensions for years, they're used in the utility truck industry like line bucket trucks, etc. So, pretty much off-grid inverters are the name of their game and it works. Like you said, they're scalable. What sold me is that they have the MPDH load center for their MS-PAE line of inverters which have a full DC load center where other brands are pretty much are lacking. Since I run a full 48 volt DC nominal powered loads and 120/240 volt AC split phase which compliment each other very well. Definitely order the back plates that they offer, because it makes the assembly process much easier. My layout is the MPDH175-30D with left a extension panel using two MS-PAE 4448 inverters and leaving one spare slot should I need more capacity. Since I run slightly half of my loads on the DC side, two inverters are more than sufficient for my needs. Even though I have 14 kWh of AGM batteries, I've weathered many of tropical storms for 12+ hours including the use of my 2.5 ton HVAC sparingly (gotta have a soft start controller for the outside unit for it to work). Plenty of time for me to get a generator connected after the storm clears; working on integrating my existing grid-tie solar for backup battery charging and future lithium upgrade.

That is an awesome setup! I've seen these inverters for many years since I got into solar but could never afford them. Now I know why. They are built like tanks and can handle the toughest power needs. Comparing these to a "4000W" inverter from Amazon is laughable.

@@LDSreliance also I forgot mention that they have a 3 year warranty on their inverters and when purchased with the MP enclosure extends it by 2 additional years for a total of 5 years. They are pricey and planning ahead on your design layout will save you on the time and materials costs of doing it all over again.

That is good to know. The good news is, as long as you don't mess up something huge like the voltage, you can design the system to be expandable since these are parallelable and have other parts that can seamlessly integrate. In fact, there are entirely pre-wired systems that are pretty attractive.

I think we are seeing what it does to depend on a world economy for all of our manufactured goods in times of war or pandemic or other calamity. I hope that we start shifting some of that back, even if it costs a bit more. I'd gladly buy a product that cost 3x more that I know was built to last a lifetime than the cheap disposal crap we get these days.

My family ran a Magnum MS2012, with a ME-BMK and ME-RC for years with no problems, running everything from computers to toasters to a CPAP machine to miter saws and grinders. With our new boat we bought "blue" equipment. Honestly both have excellent build quality. The blue stuff just has more bells and whistles. I much preferred the junction box design on the magnum though, just easier to work in.

This would be nice, but at $1800 for only 4.3 kW, it's just too expensive for what you get. I use a torrid-type inverter with the same features and produces 12kW/36kW peak for the same money. It's not as efficient, but I have abundant sunshine and battery capacity. Still, thank you!

What is a torrid-type inverter?
@contentment164
@contentment164 2 жыл бұрын
@@LDSreliance A toroidal transformer inverter or "torid-type" is a type of electrical transformer constructed with a wound, torus or donut-shaped transformer core. Less prone to surge damage but also less efficient. Many of the popular grid-tied transformers today I believe are 'transformerless.' They are generally lighter, smaller and with lower capacity, which is why most people need more than one. Usually they have to have an earthen ground because they are more vulnerable to surge. A torid-type inverter can handle a larger peak draw for a longer period, which makes it great for starting and using equipment with a heavy load, like large motors. I use mine quite often to power my 50A welder. We live off grid at 8000 ft in So. Colorado and this inverter has been in our trailer-mounted solar generator, operating without issue, for three years now, even in -20F temps for extended periods. It's not American-made, but it is affordable. It also is very heavy (about 200 lbs). The thing I don't like is that I don't have another 48V backup inverter, so if something happens to it I will be without power for awhile until I can fix or replace it.

Someone who has one warned me not to use the charger function, says they fail in the charger function, he uses it as solely an inverter 🤷🏾‍♂️
