Ever find out what those boxes were from
@staylor568711 ай бұрын
I tried to get a better look at the old 1950's public laundromat because my first gut response to those curved boxes was that they went on those old washing machines. The first one you pulled out kind of looked like it had a coin feed, but I couldn't tell for sure. If you look at the old 1950s washing machines, they were very round front-loading and it looks like the coin box sits on top. I think that's what it is, but without being able to see one in person that you pulled up, I can't be certain. It definitely looks like a money drop box to me. Most drop boxes from the 1970s on up to today are square and flat, but that's because all the laundry machines are designed with a square front. Just an idea as to what they might be.

At 1:36:48 in the video, that item that had rubber pieces in it, that is a ink stamper for marking food items like cans, jar tops, boxes, etc, from items that would go in a food store or grocery store. I grew up in a small town grocery store which my father had owned and he had several of those ink stampers. One of the front rubber strips would have several didn't symbols like $ # as well as numbers 1 thru 9. There would be anywhere from 4 to 6 bands for setting up. The ink cartilage would be at the very top just below the plate of the handle. the unit in side would spin from the ink cartilage to the bottom to stamp the items that needed to be marked. The one you found looks to be a very old one. I would think that it came out in the 50's or 60's.
