Function:- Placenta is a thick lining of blood vessels which provides food and oxygen the embryo it is thrown out from the body when a offspring takes birth. Structure:- Placenta has a very complex structure. It contains fetal vein, fetal artery, umbilical cord, chorionic villus,maternal vein, maternal artery and intervillous vein.
